ah thanks Maria. Its amazing chatting to a fellow runner albeit 3000 miles apart. I agree about the long recovery times - nearly 3 months for a sprained ankle.

I have a swim booked for Tuesday, just a splash around to test my shoulder, maybe manage 20 lengths and some pool walking for the knee.

Casserole is back on and i have home-made dumplings, savoy cabbage and creamy mash to have with it.

hope you had a lovely day at work. I am 58 on Tuesday and will ask my doctor to give me a week off so i can get more treatment on my shoulder, back and knee

well despite back pain and pouring rain at 6am i crawled out of bed. 100 minutes later and with breakfast down and a beef and veg casserole on the slow cooker, my neighbour and i ventured an hours travel to the very flat Bushy Park and ran a Christmas 5k, half tarmac half trail, and the sun had returned. And I came 4th in 23.16 which was ok as my trail trainers are very slow.

Now I am dosed up with co-codamol and a hot bottle watching Harry Potter on tv in bed :-)

I'm still going to run Bushy Park tomorrow but slowly as its a trail run, and just for the Christmas medal. Going to cook beef stew and cheesy dumplings in the slow cooker, yum!

saw a chiropractor today after breaking down at work and pulling out of a course, and my pelvis is not aligned properly from the fall, hence the pain, so had 45 mins treatment. Shoulder still hurts. Knee is getting there. Not running (training) but will plod round a 5k Sunday for the medal with my neighbour.

More treatment next Thursday on both knee and back.

This getting old thing is properly rubbish isn't it? :-)

Hiya. Well done on your run. After my 7 day week i have 2 rest days now then weds-fri at work. Saw the physio at 8am today (why??) and he was hands on and gave me some exercises to strengthen my quads which i can do in bed! (nothing rude). Theres another exercise with an exercise band. I have 5.....somewhere. Could I find them? Even searched the garage to no avail, so had to buy more, meaning they will turn up when im not looking for them. So annoying.

Looked a nice lamb mince sauce today with linguine and garlic bread.

Been told not to run for a bit, but he didnt say anything about jogging right? I will be careful and try and swim this weekend.

my 7 day working week. Finished (let out) early today and thought great, go get 4 miles in, then stacked it in the park. Some cracking grazes on arm, palm and knee, but nothing gushing, so i will live and be up at 5.30am sunday to travel to work and teach! Because us Gen X-ers just get on with it. But....ow! Luckily there was another jogger 30m behind who helped me to my feet and I still jogged the last 2k or so home :-)

ah thanks for the lovely reply. Its now 5.30pm here in the UK and dinner is one. Chicken with mashed potatoes, white cabbage and green beans. And I have a very naughty pudding for later to give me the mad dreams. I had a late breakfast around 11am so thats my excuse!

You're across the pond aren't you? So about 8 hours behind I guess. Must be about 9.30am as I type.

Funny how we both managed 6.5 miles :-)

I like road runs. The fresh air, the parks, today was hills and a slow pace. I use MapmyRun and just map out a run and go and do it. A lot are repeats, or I may decide to take a different road one day. But never more than 3 miles directly from home as its a long walk if I break down.

Life in a little boutique sounds lovely. As you know my thing is Christmas Cakes so they are to be fed every week or so. I also make sourdough bread  and am Welfare Support Officer for a colleague at Sidcup, and will surprise her with a warm loaf on Weds. Note to self -  add bread flour to shopping list!

Spoke to my eldest today who managed to miss the last train home from London to Norfolk last night, had a panic and tried to ring me (I was asleep phone on silent) but managed to kip at a mates house and should be on his way back now. Kids eh? Hes 25

Hope you have had a lovely days work when you get to read this, and i will be back on the fairyland soon

x

Hi Maria

You just reminded me that its feeding day (every sunday lol). The pensioners will leave their Christmas dinner very happy!

I managed 6.5 miles slowly today. There is tightness behind my right knee. Seeing physio through work tomorrow 8am so early alarm .

Go do your long run. The sun has come out here and its about 12C which is ok.
