Hello Polly, It is so good to hear from you. I am doing well. No apologies needed. There just aren't enough hours in a day to do everything we want/need to do. Sadye is mostly doing well. We are still struggling with her eating the new kidney diet food. It's not that she doesn't like it, she is just being stubborn and goes on a hunger strike thinking I will give in, and revert back to her old diet. It's hard but I'm sticking to my guns. She won't break me. Lol!!! I will be taking her back in for follow up blood work not this up coming week but the following week. They will do blood work to see if the new food is helping. I sure hope the results will be positive. Poor Hugo....it sounds like he sure is having a time. Bless his heart. I bet he didn't like being a bit more confined with his injuries. That poor boy....I bet those nails being torn down to the quick was very painful. Glad you just happened to be at the vets when he tore the second one. Those poor little paws really bleed. I know at times when I cut Sadye's nail a bit too short, it bleeds a lot. For sure our fur babies keep us on our toes...it's always something. But our lives are richer with them in it.

I have been doing fine. I have been getting ready for the summer. Over the weekend I planted some flowers in the very nice flower planter boxes Ed built for me this past winter in his down time. Today I got the hummingbird feeder out, so excited for my hummers to return. I have been making greeting cards....my therapy. We are still having to take Molly to get her adjustments and laser treatements. She had a few rough days a week ago, and we talked to her vet, she mentioned surgery again, but with Molly's age Kathy has decided it is not something she wants to put Molly through, so the vet things with the adjustments and laser treatments she can live fairly normal life. She will have some deficiency in her gait but she can run and walk and roll in the grass. Pretty normal I think for a 12 year old frosty faced baby.  I'm glad you are feeling better after that bug. So do you think the injections are or will help you? I hope you do well and they will will help you. Your message got cut off so not sure what else was in your note. Take care friend....sending lots of ear scritches, tummy rubs and loves for handsonme Hugo. Big hugs to you friend.....take care and be safe!

Hello beautiful, now it's my turn to apologise to you for taking so long to reply, there really aren't enough hours in the day are there? It's half past midnight and now I have time 🤣 You really are an amazing lady, the fact that you go to your badminton games despite your pain is amazing. I remember how tired Steven would get, especially during and after an extended episode and you're absolutely right, no-one who doesn't suffer with Crohns can possibly understand. Of course I don't mind you asking, I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, that's what the immunosuppressants are for, I have other issues too but the list is a long one - according to my brother I'm the only legal junkie he knows 🤣😂🤣😂 *touching wood* dad has had a few really good weeks but, unfortunately

still no news on an appointment with the Renal Unit. It's been over three weeks and nothing, if this is urgent, goodness only knows how long a non-emergency appointment would take! Oh that's such a lovely thing to even think, thank you, You sound as though you have a very important and fulfilling job, see? A truly lovely lady. My niece is due to have her second baby soon so I'm knitting furiously to get a few more bits done but the weather has been warmer so I've been able to get out into my greenhouse for a bit - mind you if I never have to wash a seed tray or flower pot again it will be too soon 😂 I hope you're having an "up" time at the moment? I'm off to get a drink and watch the end of my movie (Mocking Jay Part 2). Love and hugs sweetness, be safe and feel well lovelie 💜💜💜💜💜

Polly thank you for the lovely message. Yes it was quite a relief to know she did not have Cushings. I am sorry to hear about Bart who had it. I can tell you really miss him. He must have been your soul dog. He lived life to the best it sounds like. You said he was spoiled, it is easy to spoil those babies who has your whole heart. I totally understand. Sounds like he was a good pup, obedient for sure. I think we have turned a corner with new food. She has eaten it more willingly the last 2 days. I'm hoping she finally realizes she isn't going to boss me around about this. Yes I told Ed that I think she thinks I'm trying to poison her. I am doing it for her own good, but like you said she doesn't understand it. Yes I have been quite consumed with all kind of thoughts and trying to prepare myself for the worse. So was so relieved to get the good news. I'm sorry Hugo broke his nail. Ouch. I know that has got to hurt him. Bless his heart. Glad you were able to stay with him while he is healing. I'm sure he was pleased to have you with him. I hope he can back to go out for his walk on Friday. It is unreal how expensive vet costs are. Poor Hugo...he also sees the vet probably more than

Hello Polly, I apologize for not writing sooner, but there was a reason. I had to take Sadye in last week for her follow up blood work for her liver. Well that appointment did not go well. The vet told me she thought she may have Cushings Disease. My heart sank with her words. I didn't know much about it, but I did know it was something that Dachshund develop and it is a hard disease to control. No cure, just mangae symptoms. I was assured she could live a long life with medication. Well I was informed that it would take another specialized blood test to determine if she has it. This was early in the week. So I set up the appointment for Friday. I just thought it would be a normal test, but know I had to drop her off at 8 am, they would draw at that time, again at noon, and then again at 4 pm. So I had to take her and leave her there all day. I went to pick her up and they told me they wouldn't have results until Monday. Well needless to say I started worrying until I got the results. The vet called and gave me some wonderful news. She does not have Cushings. Praise the Lord.

So for now we will continue with the liver supplements as well as getting her totally switched over to the prescripton kidney food. So I wanted to let you as soon as I knew. I am doing ok. Sadye is doing ok, we are struggling with the new food, but she will not break me, I will do what I need to, to keep her with me as long as I can. She thinks she is the boss, but we are having a battle of wills at the moments. I am determined she will eat it, and she is determined she will be the boss....not going well for either of us. Lol. She is doing better taking the liver supplements so that is a win. I have decided to quite hand feeding her. It doesn't seem to make a difference. So now I offer it to her if she turns her nose up I will cover it and offer it to her later. So still struggling.
