Hi Susannah a break found really so little time with this out patient rehab its got benefits but prefer the overnight stay ones you get quality time and less time sitting or having to stand in corridors. Never heard of what you had , normally whatever damage stroke does by the time you are in hospital whatsn done is done no more things happen apart from another stroke!!! i was in for 8 days observation there was a queue for the mrt scan machine the ct scan showed nothing but the mrt showed a stroke and a micro tear , the micro tear is what threw out a clot and that gave me the double vision which was the reason i went to the docs. I was taking anti stroke medication feel a little agrived but cannot change anything except medication so now on a different anti stroke tab as obviously the last one didnt work.
as for feeling afterwards well didnt feel too bad , i have dropped a few things broke a few cups and a bit forgetfull with the shopping but there are work arounds and life habits to change, now shop with a list using digital paper so wipe it clean after each trip per shop - really organised with different colours for different shops. The tests so far do show a few other things very wobbly on one leg, reaction time is a little slow, walking pigeon toed again wobbly thats all in the program for the next few weeks until 17th april then will go from there certainly back to work will never be 8 hours a day again will go back on a few hours a day and increase each week i think to a max 4 per day no more , that will all be paid by the health insurance so my employer has no problems with that. Did the nutrition and exercise study today and could not have done more there and no changes to that have been suggested just keep on the training plan for a year. another year geeeeeeesssss long time but they think should be a full recovery. phew !!!
