Hi Malcolm, yes it was a milestone birthday so I did very well on the present front. Got a fabulous huge new propagater from my brother, flowers, money, perfume, the picture I wanted, vodka, gin, champagne, chocolates, loads of stuff.
Got the greenhouse insulation completed, everything is now white over with frost.

Mary Poppins sounds just fabulous, it’s up there with my favourite films, Julie Andrew’s is such a legend. Fingers crossed for a good night out tomorrow xx

Hi Malcolm, we had about the same amount of snow, so glad I have the week off so didn’t have to go out, hasn’t snowed on my birthday for decades.
Planted some more bulbs today but got thoroughly chilled so haven’t yet finished, still go 40 tulips to do and then that’s it.
Need to have a sort out in the greenhouse and shed. The shed just stinks of rat poo and wee. Out tomorrow night with girls from work, starting about 5pm, could get messy lol. Xxx

Hi Malcolm, lots of rain this evening but no snow thank god, Derbyshire have had quite a bit.
Met my friend for coffee this morning and then went for bird seed supplies. Had a Jay in the garden after the sunflower hearts, that’s because the peanut feeder was empty.
The end of the week looks promising for some sunshine. Need to finish off insulating the greenhouse as well. Got more flipping rats in the shed, poison had gone so put another pack down, popped back in the house, went back to the shed and it had gone. I don’t mind mice at all but rats just make me shudder.  Have a good Tuesday xxx

Hi Malcolm, had a lovely time with my sister & brother in law. Along with my lovely picture, she also got me a beautiful bouquet of roses, just stunning.
We had a great night out, outstanding meal, and we were sat at the table next to my friend who’s birthday was yesterday and I’m meeting for coffee tomorrow, so that was funny.

They had to leave early this morning as my nephew was in a cup match for the rugby team he plays for.
So you had a house full, no wonder Wendy was shattered. Today has been very mild but drizzling, I’ve been too tired to do anything in the garden, but have got this week off to get things ready for Winter. Have a good Monday xxx

Hi Malcolm, love the pics of Cornwall, is that a fare drive from where you live?  I love the history and all the stone buildings.  Definitely on our bucket list to visit the U.K.  We had a great holiday in NZ, we covered 2228 km's in the car.  Back to work Monday...but I must say I am feeling very relaxed.

Hi Malcolm, good idea to get the leaves all cut up while it’s dry, and doing it with a sit on mower seems an excellent way.
The friend I’m meeting on Monday for coffee has also got a table booked at the same restaurant as us tomorrow evening, they are there just 30 mins before us. Her birthday is tomorrow.
Not a bad day, the order arrived nice and early, as there are now three of us with very little to do, one stayed in the office. I’m off next week, then another off the following week week, so we all get to miss a week of the order. Don’t think we will get the forecasted/predicted snow, I need some dry nice weather to get the garden finished and the rest of the bulbs planted. Not back to the office until 25th November, bliss! Hi Malcolm, yes cancelled the work night out on the 16th, we are doing that on 21st now. Haven’t seen my sister since last July so desperately wanted to make that one happen.
Can’t wait for a week off so just one ore day. Car service was good, already paid for two on a plan so no additional expense. I asked for a price for a rear parking camera, get this over £800 so I declined. What I have done tonight is buy a front and rear dashcam from Halfords and they are fitting it week afer next. The mechanic at the VW garage said this would be of more benefit than a parking camera especially in the area I have to drive in for work. Let’s just say if any of the have insurance or have passed a driving test it’s a miracle! Red lights have no meaning to them!
Snow forecast next week so I need to crack o and get the remaining bulbs panted and the greenhouse sealed up and the heater in so I’ ready for it.

Got to laugh at my paid/laid mistake. From what I have read Rick does own a few properties in Padstow, a place for a special celebration to dine at his restaurant, although my sister did also go to another fine dining place which she said was equally good and not as expensive.
Managed to get all my recipes printed out, some had a very productive day.
Car is going in for a service tomorrow so I will be on the bus, they come and collect the car which is nice, although the garage is only a 10 min walk up the road.
Looking forward to the weekend, my sister & bro in law are coming, we are going out to a local Italian restaurant called Da Vinci, it’s very nice, an old fashioned place but the best restaurant for miles.
Hope you had a good day out at golf, must be a nice place to charge those rates, were you able to wheel spin the buggies lol xxx

Hi Malcom busy day at the Walk in Centre, they had to close this afternoon for the GP’s to clear the back log which I have to say they create as they work at a snail pace, they get laid the same regardless of how many people they see, hence the ‘go slow’ attitude.

My clinic was busy, the sister’s are booking in the patients for the Christmas period which I’m glad about, they are prioritising based on need rather than whoever gets in first.
Popped to the shops at lunchtime to get the squirrels some peanuts and Morrisons didn’t have any, ended up getting walnuts/hazelnuts in the shell thank goodness they have them in the run up to Christmas.
Padstow sounds lovely, hope the pasty was good. My sister went to Rick Steins there last year and early celebration for her 50th.
Another clear night so it has gone quite chilly
No doubt it will be a boring office day tomorrow, but I want to do some recipe googling. There’s a site called Easy peasy lemon squeezey who do great easy recipes I can print them out at work so I’ll be busy lol x
