I thought I'd never get to Maggie's fortunately I left mine so I could be with her by 10. Normally it takes about and hour and a half but today I got on to the small road that goes across country to hers and met a 'Road Closed' sign. I phoned her and she said the only thing to do was to retrace my journey back to the main road and try to find a way around it. When I got back on the road I found they'd put up some diversion signs, so I followed those until I realised they were a diversion for somewhere else!! Anyway I did see a sign post with a place name I recognised near where she lives. Did I say it was not my day, I went along another little narrow road only to meet an on coming extra wide load. Fortunately there was a field entrance I could get into [no pavements just bushes], so into the field I went while he went past. OMG I don't want another journey like that. On the way home a police car was parked across the main road, I've no idea why, but it was closed and I had a 20 mile diversion. I phoned Maggie when I got home and told her I have a few more grey hairs and next time she can come to me. Needless to say she laughed.
