Hello Michelle, I hate to hear that you are getting that smoke from the Canadian wildfires. It sure is effecting many places. I have a friend who lives in Michigan and she said it so very thick and it just hangs in the air, she lives near the Mackinaw bridge, and the traffic is slowed to about 20 miles going across it. How did your appointment go with the new dentist? I'm like you, I have dental phobia as well. There is nothing pleasant about going to the dentist. Period! I know you were quite anxious about going. It sounds like you have a fun day planned with the littles. I hope you have a good time and aren't affected too much from all the smoke. Enjoy your time with them. We are doing well, although we are experiencing another heat wave, but at least the humidity isn't nearly as bad as it was 2 weeks ago. I get up early to water the gardens and then I stay in the rest of the day unless I have errands to run and such. Sadye doesn't seem too bothered by it, but with all that fur I don't let her stay out long, I hurry her along to do her business. I hope the girls are doing ok, and that they aren't going to have issues with the smoke. Please stay safe. Love up on the girls...sending love and hugs! Have you all in my prayers. That's the exact time slot I purchased..There was a line to get in (traffic) but when they asked if I already purchased tickets they said just go up and park. We did the building first..visit the otter...he's a riot and the girl there was so knowledgable. On the back end we went through the building again. The kids will love it!

I bought my tickets online and was glad I did bc we got to go around and park right away. However you can buy when you get there. We got there right at 10 and went thru the visitors center first which is pretty cool...then into the woods. You can spend most of the day there. Bring water for the trails..we didn't and the kids got thirsty later in the day. You can have a picnic there too if you want to pack a cooler... Its so worth it.They will love it. Roman really loved the ball and chutes that begin at one of the trail( I think it was the raquette river roll) and you take your wooden ball and do other chutes all the way down....its really easy to spend lots of time there wandering. I think we might have even missed some parts down by the river..but it was fun.

Yes Michelle we were thrilled with the outcome of Molly's appointment. We had a few delightful days this week, but the heat is starting to rise again. Last week was brutal. Did the girls enjoy their evening walk again tonight. Yes I'm doing well. I saw the picture of Alina that you posted today. You sure have some good looking grandkids. Michelle I forgot to tell you. We had Molly at her monthly adjustment/ and laser treatment, the Dr. told us she thought we could go 6 weeks instead of 4 so that was great news. Sadye is doing well as well. Love up on the girls!

Morning Michelle, yes I believe much of the country is struggling with heat and humidity. It is brutal for sure. Like you I'm not a fan of the heat, when much younger it didn't bother me a bit, but not today, now that I'm older it takes a toll and it doesn't take long. I feel for your son, like Ed having to work out in all kinds of weather conditions. Glad that Penny isn't bothered by the fireworks, Sadye is much bothered by them, but Molly doesn't like them at all. When she was just a puppy she ran off and it took us several hours to find her, so every year Kathy has to keep a close look out for her. I will praying for Piper. The last couple nights people have been setting off fireworks, but they have been far enough hasn't cause any anxiety for Sadye. I sure hope Piper didn't get sick again after her grooming appointment. You mentioned that Larry would drive you and you could hold her. I hope that help ease her anxiety a bit. We don't have plans for the 4th either. Ed will be doing a few things for Kathy while he has a little extra time this weekend. Good Morning Michelle, I hope you all are doing well. We have been under a heat dome all week. We have reached over 100 feels like temps all week, there have issues with the roads buckling and such. We have been staying inside to stay cool. Ed is still working in the heat I call and check on him, but he always says "no worries". It's got to be difficult on those individuals who do have to work out in these weather conditions. Temps will start to back off a bit starting tomorrow. Do you have plans for the 4th? We don't have any plans. I know the girls Sadye and Molly don't care for all the loud noises from the fireworks. I hate that for them. Good morning Michelle, you and I are in agreement in helping our girls live their best life. When Sadye and I are deep in discussion I tell her all the time I wish I had the money, place and time to help a lot of others, that she lives a pretty good life, when so many others just struggle to stay alive. That in and of itself is heart breaking. I know I don't what it takes to work at a shelter, or foster because I would get too attached. Yes I would love for Sadye to live to be 20 but only if she is healthy and pain free. I experience anticipatory grieving from time to time, just thinking about having to say goodbye. Enough of that getting emotional just thinking about it. We have a gloomy rainy ahead of us today, but next week it is going to be very hot, no rain in sight until late next week and that is a slim chance. I hope you have a great weekend. Michelle, that story about Carter was heart wrenching. I bet that was scary for all of you. My former next door neighbor had a Saint Bernard named Winston and he died from that. I saw Jim out in the yard and asked about him and he told me what happened. He was pretty upset he had another Saint that had the same issue and he also died. I think all dog breeds have some kind of  predisposed or genetic conditions that can be life threatening. I know I worry about Sadye all the time, she will be 11 in October and I know we are on the downhill slide of good days left with her. I do whatever I need to keep her as healthy as I can and live her best life as long as she can. I sure do appreciate all the prayers for her. We do worry and fret over our fur babies. I haven't heard from her vet so I imagine she concurred with the other vets evaluation and plan of action moving forward. So we can coast for 6 months. I hope you have a great weekend. Hello Michelle, thank you for keeping Sadye in your prayers. I haven't heard from her primary vet so she may not do anything different. I wasn't sure if dachshunds were prone to liver or kidney disease and unfortunately they are. I googled it to see, because I was curious. I had never been told that or even considered it. I will do more research about that I'm sure. I agree I think smaller dogs tend to be healthier. I'm thrilled you all had a great time celebrating Larry and then Fathers Day too. Nice that weather was nice and you were able to enjoy the celebrations. I'm sure the littles were excited to be spending time with you while your daughter and son in law have dinner to celebrate their anniversary. Isn't that truth. Little ones sure can wear you down quickly. What I wouldn't do to have some of their energy. I bet they enjoyed being at camp. How are the girls? How is their new enclosure working?
