Hello Michelle, I think the majority of the country was dealing with some extreme weather. I can imagine sleeping would be difficult with the wind howling that loudly. We had some severe thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon, then a huge temp drop into the evening. We only got a dusting of snow, but due to the rain before that it created some frozen water on the roadways. We are expecting some more snow tonight, but not much. I think our weather is very similar here in Central Il. There is always the chance of ice storms, I hate this time of year because the weather can be so unpredictable and change in a moment. I'm glad Piper is doing well. I know you are disappointed that Piper and Penny didn't become the best of friends right away. It sounds like Penny tolerates her to a certain point but beyond that it is up for discussion for her. Bless her heart. She was number one for a long time and now there is another one she has to share with it, it probably is confusing for her at times. I'm like you I do hope when Piper kind of grows out of some of the annoying puppy antics and settles a bit Penny will take more interest in her.  Have you got big plans for Liams birthday for tomorrow or are you celebrating over the weekend? I know you speak very fondly of him, him being the first and the only boy I can understand how he has a big part of your heart. They sure do grow up so quickly. We are doing well. I just read your post.  Oh, I feel sorry for you not getting sleep because of the winds.  :(  Hope the cold snap is gone soon.  This time of year is so unpredictable.  I remember the blizzard Ohio had in the first week of April back in the day.  Brrrrr!!!!  Keep warm!  xxx

I am so glad Piper seems to be doing without the pain meds. It sounds like she is quite well since her procedure. It amazes me how resilient puppies are. Sadye is doing well. Although since her last incident, she has become somewhat lazy. She will roam the grass to find the perfect blade to do her business on, then when it's time to come in, she sits down and wants me to pick her up. I refuse to do it. I figure if she has the strength to roam all over, then she has the strength to come up her ramp and get inside.  Just testing me I'm sure. She eats ok for the most part. I still have to spoon feed her with her prescription kidney food, she won't eat it on her own, being defiant. She gets chicken gizzards for supper and eats them fine. Sadye likes cheese too. But I can guarantee that if I did do that to her kidney food, she would turn her nose up and walk away, and refuse to eat it. How funny, that Penny thinks you are sprinkling cheese on her food with just the hand movements. What ever works I say. Continued below...

No big plans here this weekend. Ed has to work a bit in the morning, so I figure he will be home late morning/early afternoon. It was a lovely day here, Sunday we have potential for some really bad weather, starting off with rain, turning into severe storms, followed by drastic temperature drop, then snow. Then stay very cold through Tuesday. We have to take Molly for her adjustment on Monday, sure hope the weather/roads aren't bad. But spring is almost here. How is Layne doing? So glad to hear Piper is doing well. Sounds like she has bounced right back after her procedure and that is great news. I can only imagine how you are trying to keep her calm, in all her puppiness, she isn't having any of that. It will be entertaining to see how she gets used to being outside. Once she realizes the freedom of being outside, and all the smells, that will be new to her. We had some beautiful days, but today it turned off quite chilly again. Hope little Piper isn't too uncomfortable this evening. So glad she got through the procedure with no real issues. How is nurse Penny taking care of her?
