It was a lovely (but hot) Friday.I played some piano duets with a friend and had a long nap.  I've decided the gold turtle quest may be a lifetime quest - I'm not getting very far very fast. Hope you have a good weekend.

When I realised he wasn't coming I did go out to get the local paper and a couple of other bits, it seems amazing how long it can take to go to 3 stores so when I got home I was ready for my dinner so I tossed a ready meal of pasta, chicken and bacon in a sauce into the microwave, 6 minutes later dinner on a plate. I must admit I usually have one in the fridge or something I can add vegetables to like a pie for a quick meal. I'm not a keen cook and find cooking for one a chore.

I am lucky to have so many friends about but it's helped that I've never moved from Lowestoft. They were all home births when I was born in my cousin Christine's bed 75 years ago and she's only just forgiven me for getting her up early. lol I think as we get older we do have fewer friends, Sheila who I see most weeks is 85 and I can't imagine not visiting her. Maggie is the same age as me, well 9 months older but in better condition. lol I suppose it comes to all of us in the end and I'd hate to be a burden on the girls.  They'll have to put me in a home somewhere!

Hi Janet, Barry never arrived so I gave him a call later in the afternoon to see if he was OK and he said his car had broken down with smoke coming from the exhaust! He was a bit distressed as he needed it to get him to the airport on Monday when he's away on holiday. He said he might be able to come to mine before he went but I told him not to give it a thought and come when he gets back in about 3 weeks I also said I'd keep digging up a few weeds every day. I felt sorry for him as it's no way to start a holiday.

The temp has gone up again today with the sun out it's been 72f but with no breeze feels warmer though no chance of heat stroke here. lol

I'd worked on the puzzle this morning and managed to finish it ready for Barry to take, never mind it will still be here in 3 weeks. I'll send a pic.
