I saw your pictures of the horses and the planting of the rose. Are there many roses in the gardens near you, I imagined it would be too hot and dry. The best roses I ever grew were in the garden of the house I lived in when I was married and the soil there was sticky clay and they loved it. Good luck and hopefully you'll be getting lots of scented blooms.

Tomorrow I'm going to get some plastic crates for Sheila, they're a 'Sunday special' at one of our local stores. Since she no longer drives I said I'd get them and take them to hers next Saturday. Then I can get on with the new puzzle. I've not touched it today as I didn't get home until almost 7 and then I needed to get something to eat. I plumped for a ham salad as it was quick, tomorrow I'm having roast chicken and veg.

On my way home I stopped by to speak to my cousin Richard who tells me my uncle's house has finally been sold and should complete in about 3 weeks. Uncle's been gone now for 2 years and it's taken all this while to sell.  After I saw Richard I went to see my aunt. We had a cuppa and long chat and she seems much better this week. She's looking forward to her next birthday on the 1st and I have no idea what to give her, no doubt I'll find something but what do you give someone who's 92.

We didn't get the blood rain last night but we did get the Saharan dust, it was all over my car. I'm not going to get it washed for a few days as it will probably get filthy again. The same goes for the windows and surrounds, they'll need a good wash but it can wait, maybe the rain will come and get rid of the worst of it.

Hi Janet, it's only been 44 today and decidedly chilly. I met up with Ness at the hall and found a Ravensburger puzzle. It's a what happens next one, they don't do many and are a bit like the wasjigs so are fun to do, not that I know when I'll have time to do it!

Friend Sheila has decided that she won't be going to the funeral in a weeks time, something to do with it not being at the church but at the crematorium which is further away. I think she's had to much time to think about it and doesn't really want to go. I don't mind it will mean not doing so many miles and with the trouble of getting fuel [gas] for the car it's fine by me. I think people are beginning to panic buy it due to the war. Unlike yourselves we don't have 'home grown' supplies and now Kuwait are saying they're going to stop exporting it goodness knows when I'll get any. I do have enough to take Sue to the funeral but I doubt she's given it any thought. Lovely women but very unworldly.
