Hi Sweet Lady Denece, I hope all is well there on your edge of the world☺️ I hear you talking about your father and I know that working with elderly people can be challenging. There are always some special circumstances. My mom is 96, very stubborn and getting quite forgetful. having a conversation with her can be very challenging and can get messy very quickly. Once that happens there is no getting it straight. Frustrating! I love her and want her with me as long as possible, but as you know, sometimes the mind has a mind of its own, which I feel guilty about because sometimes my thoughts go negative, and I am ashamed of myself, but I have to accept that those occasional thoughts are normal and I quickly move past them. if she goes before I do, I will miss her terribly, quirks and all, so I can only imagine that the relationship with your father is complex and I have compassion for all of you.
Kelly and Steve are married and have been for approximately 26 years. It is a miracle that they are blended family struggled and survived through those formative years. It is also miraculous that Kelly’s two daughters love and respect Steve as if he were their natural father. Kelly and Montana were not so fortunate in that relationship. Kelly raised her two daughters to the best of her ability and she did a good job. Steve would not allow Kelly to put the same rules to Montana. Everybody has he and his family all feel so sad for her that she lost her mom at such a young age, and it is my opinion that Montana has serious depression. She did start taking an antidepressant a couple years ago and it has been wonderful for her. She actually smiles once in a while and it’s a beautiful thing to see. She’s also lost a substantial amount of weight since she’s been taking it. It’s amazing that it has made such a dramatic difference , she is grateful as are we. We all seem to have a much more normal relationship with her since she began the medication too bad it didn’t start sooner but at least it’s working now.
Steve’s birthday was this past weekend and we all got together and enjoyed each other‘s company tremendously. talking to Rachel and Michael, they are reconsidering having a child. Michael is up for a big promotion and there is a possibility he would need to relocate. They have an amazing home that they’ve done a lot of work on in Nashville, Tennessee, and don’t want to leave it, they’ve talked about Michael traveling back-and-forth, but Rachel doesn’t want to feel like a single mother with a child. Her job is also very demanding and children always need to support both parents whether they get it or not. Looking at the world and it’s troubles and not sure if they want to , bring a new life into it. Isn’t that sad? mom and Kelly and I have talked about this quite a bit and had mixed feelings about a baby coming. I would love to see Kelly be a grandma as well as Rachel and Michael be parents. If they do not have a child, it will be the end of our side of the family, long line of strong women. Somehow, I’m sure you have your own line of strong women.
The family minus mom and myself took Steve to Indianapolis to play fowlingball. Yes, that is spelled correctly.😆 it consists of throwing a football at bowling pins. They all had a blast and said it was very difficult and fun. They all came home tired and want to do it again sometime. They said the pins are further away than they had thought they would be and that they have to reset their pins themselves. Have you ever set up bowling pins? That can be a bit challenging on its own and funny, frustrating.
Our pool is still covered, but I have everything set up to run it when the time is right. I have the rain barrels set up and the rain has filled the pool nicely. We are anxious to start our new heater that worked well last year and we hope it will do the same this year. It has been so frustrating. But the instructions say not to use it until the water is 50 degrees. the wind is savage this time of year and we wouldn’t wanna open it anyway while it’s like this. It would be no fun for us being wet and the pool would be full of debris all the time from the wind, but we are excited about it and looking forward to it a great deal.
I have added more dirt to our above ground planter and have planted radishes and two types of lettuce as they like cold weather and should be fine if it would frost again here. It seemed I was having a little trouble getting in the mood to do gardening this year, but as soon as I got out there and got my hands in the dirt and some seeds, I was enthusiastic again.
Oh yes, I have joined a gym. I forget if I told you that already I’ve been doing it since the end of February and like it a lot and it seems to be good for my body. Imagine that!😝
I hope you and your sister have found a wonderful place for your dad. Mom has a friend who lives in an assisted living home and she is quite happy there. Everything is so expensive anymore. I don’t know how anyone can afford these things. I know homes and assets, quite often are all sold to be able to go into this type of housing.
No concerns about how long it takes us to answer each other. We’ll get into it as we go along and it’s all fine. I appreciate our friendship and that’s all that matters. Have a beautiful Sunday and great week ahead.
