Did you actually travel through Asheville? I can’t even imagine how devastated that area is. I have some friends who live in Asheville. They said that still don’t have running water. I realize the things I take for granted! I can’t comprehend how terrible it must be to have loved ones still missing. 😞

I’m personally doing okay (although still dealing with anemia), but two of my closest friends have stage 4 breast cancer. One of them has been my best friend since we were 10. She is currently doing very well and feel very hopeful. My other friend is a man, actually. I know that men get breast cancer, too, but it just seems so shocking just the same. His is more dire. He has been in the hospital for almost a week. They are trying to get his pain under control. They are discussing palliative care. Thankful that he will receive treatments and have pain management so that hopefully he can have a better quality life.

Seeing what my friends are going through often puts things in perspective for me to do my best to be grateful for each day and to be in the moment more and live more fully.
