below are 2 lots of notes on frog breeding. I have tried to make it simple to understand.

Spotting in other gardens

Every ‘set’ of tadpole, froglets and frogs you spot in other gardens, will attract a land frog in your own garden, with every 5th land from dropping spawn.

For example, if you have spotted

56 tadpoles,
54 froglets
53 UW frogs
3 Ghostly UW frogs (remember to add UW frog and ghostly UW frog together again, total 56 )

you would be due to attract only 54 land frogs in your own garden. Why, because that is the number of complete sets you have spotted.

If you had spotted the following numbers in other peoples gardens,

60 tadpoles,
60 froglets
53 UW frogs
3 Ghostly UW frogs (totalled is 56 frogs)
You would have 56 land frogs due as 56 is the number of complete sets of tadpoles, froglets and frogs you have spotted.

To get spawn, it is the same, every 5th land frog attracted in your own garden will drop spawn

you need to then go underwater and away you go attracting tadpoles, or BD's

Frog Breeding

Attracting in your own garden.

In short, every pair of tadpole and froglet will attract an UW frog, either normal or ghostly, depends on the MM in.
Every 5th frog of either UW or ghostly drops spawn

So, for example, if you had attracted in your own garden these pairs

Tadpole – 37
Froglets – 37
You have 37 frogs due.

If you had 37 tadpoles and only 34 froglets, you would only have 34 frogs due.

If you’ve had 7 Ghostly UW frog spotted and 23 UW frogs, the total spotted so far would be 30 Frogs. Meaning you would have 7 frogs due ( using the 37 due example)

If you are in normal MM pond, you would need another 2 UW frogs to drop spawn.
If you are in ghostly MM pond, you would need another 3 Ghostly frogs to drop spawn.

As you have 7 frogs due, and need 2 for spawn for reg UW frogs, you will have 5 left, meaning you have another lot of 5 spare for one more spawn.

If in ghostly mode, and you had the 3 spotted, you would only have 4 left and would need to attract more tadpoles and froglets to get more frogs due to get more spawn for either.

Land Frogs
Take the lowest # of Froglets or Tadpoles you have spotted and subtract the total number of all frogs you have spotted.
97 - 81 = 16
16 divided by 5 = 3 spawners with 1 left over.
Now look at the total # of all the frogs you have spotted and add whatever it takes to make the next lot of 5. This is the number of Land frogs you have to attract into lay spawn.
81 plus 4 = 85

You have spotted enough froglets and tadpole to lay 3 plates of spawn.
You need to attract 4 land frogs for your first plate of spawn.

UW Frogs
Take the lowest number of froglets or Tadpoles you have spotted and subtract the total number of frogs attracted to see if you have enough to make enough frogs for a spawner.
77 - 74 = 3
So you have enough froglets and taddies for 3 frogs.
Now look at how many UW frogs you have attracted and add however many you need to reach the next set of 5.
70 plus 5 = 75.
You need to attract 5 UW Frogs for a spawner.
You have 3 each of Froglets and Tadpoles available and it takes 5 of each to make a spawner.
5 - 3 = 2
You need to attract 2 of each to make a spawner.
You will have to go to land to get spawn.
