Hello Mich, sounds like you have the same sort of temps that we have in our Winter. I suppose when you live on a large continent the temps can vary widely. We live on a small island and do have temps that vary in the four sections but generally by a few degrees. l am close to the coast but not right on it. The soil is mainly clay subsoil. The good stuff is on the hills behind us. I like Spring all the new shoots coming throught the soil. But my favourite time is Autumn, the tree colours is a magic palate of reds, yellows and greens. I too have a few raised beds, borders and lots of pots and baskets. The garden when l am able is my happy place too. l wrap up in my snuggly and have a hot water bottle when its cold lol. Hello Mich, icy cold? what temperature is it there? its dry but very windy and 20C but feels cooler due to the strong wind. Nice in sheltered spots though. Gosh thats a heck of a lot of rain for you there. Of course flooding will occur if ground is very dry, l do hope there is little damage to both life and property. We get a lot of rain in the UK , but this last 2 years have been so much worse and floods pop up anywhere, mainly on the flatlands though. I have never seen a Whale in their natural environment. That would be amazing to see l am sure. I have seen Dolphins in the wild when on holiday . Also many other sea creatures in in Animal Parks incuding The Great Orca they were well looked after ,but with new legislation l am glad to say , they were forced to release them and other creatures back into the wild.  Paris will be wonderful to see l am sure, a lot of history there. It will or should be warm when you come over. xxx

Hi Mich, are you in Canadaor South Africa? a lot of flooding in both. l am super happy you are safe where you are. So much damage done this year due to fires and flooding. Here in the UK we get a lot of rain normally, but this year its been exceptional and flooding too. We at the moment are having a mini heatwave , previously record lows.
