I'll get my free bus pass in 2028. The English government are so mean to the English. Actually I do get free eye tests and prescriptions, but there was talk a while back that it would be stopped. So I don't know what's going to happen. It seems to me that since the cost of living crisis, that the companies have jumped on the band wagon and put everything up because they can. The supermarkets have started to lower some prices but they're not as low as they were, so we're not really better off. I'm with Thames Water and they never lower their bills. They're quite happy to dump sewage into the sea and have leaks everywhere and then charge us customers more. It makes me so angry.

Hi Evelyn, I'm not happy with the government keep changing the age that we can retire, I know people generally live longer now, but not everyone will. Some people in their 70s and 80s are in quite good health and yet some in their 50s and 60s are not. I would be quite happy to work longer if I was doing a job I really enjoyed. It isn't much fun getting to know people and then have them die a few years later or less. My BIL was born a year before me in 1960 but he'll retire in 2026, where I'll retire in 2028, doesn't seem fair to me. Poor Emma will not get her state pension until 2049, when she's 68. I'm not sure how long she'll be able to continue with the grocery deliveries for. She already suffers from back problems. The older you get, the more difficult it is to find a good paid job. Companies say they are not ageist but some are. I suppose in a interview, it wouldn't go down too well if when asked where do you see yourself in 10 years, to reply, retired if I'm not dead, lol.

Thanks everyone.  Got new internet provider so can play again but am hectically busy so won't be around as much as in the winter.
Had a wonderful holiday in Mexico, can't wait to go again!, Swimming in the ocean can be ticked off my bucket list. I was joined by hundreds of fish which was a new experience.  Have even got a lovely tan which doesn't often happen. Also added a few pounds but we won't talk about that!
Both animals survived my absence but are happy to be home.

I am such an idiot! I have been writing for ages, probably about a whole page of waffle and just lost the lot because I saw the number 1 by the news and went to check it out grrrrr.
I froze last week, intending for the vases to mature in storage and to thaw the next morning but it's just been so hectic that I haven't got round to it but I hope to thaw today.  I prefer the rainforest  to the level 1-10 vases, much more pleasant to do. I only completed the advanced pot challenge for April once and finding and hosting the crane chick and the long eared owl were a right headache so I don't think I will be doing them again even though I like the special pots.

I took Charlie to Southampton yesterday to look at one of the uni's there. The journey was a nightmare. We left a bit later than we should have (family issues) and the M25 was chaotic  and when we got there, there were so many road works, finding a car park wasn't easy. Hence we got there a little late for the  "talk" that Charlie wanted to go to. We found the room then discovered that the talk had been at 10.30 not 12.30 as he thought, so we wandered around the buildings and met a really lovely lady who worked in the library who told us so much it really made up in some way for missing the talk. They have another open day at the end of June so if we go to that one we will travel down on the Friday and stay over so we get there bright and early.

Graham is doing ok. He was meant to have an MRI before he left the hospital following his TIA, of course that didn't happen.  He left the hospital being told to take his usual tablets plus another for BP, asprin for 3 weeks  only and Clopidrogel.  He got a call the weekend before last to make an appointment for the Monday at our local hospital to get it done. On the Tuesday he got a call from the consultant explaining that there are different types of strokes, one where you have a blood clot and another where the veins/arteries are thin and can leak. You guessed it - Graham had the second type so should not have had 3 weeks of asprin or the other blood thinners. We stopped them immediately and fortunately no harm seems to have been done.
Jean is currently sunning herself in Lanzarote if youn were wondering why she's frozen too lol.
