2. I was really disappointed (and a bit shocked actually) to read the reward for doing all these gold vases which have taken a lot of time & resources was the ability to build your own bouquet! Really! I think I've built about 35 of them now & the "reward", if you can call it that, feels like a slap in the face. I feel it was a lengthy time consuming challenge which deserves a little more recognition & a better reward. I feel 4 vases all at once is too much but I have built all 4. Seeing as I had the Wombat/Sugar Glider plants already for my Tiger vase I decided to concentrate on the harder vases to begin with. I have ruled a few out but won't be able to do much with them until I reopen in June. I'm getting my feet done tomorrow, my nails done on Wednesday, Thomas is here on Tuesday, we still have to go to Colins Mums as well even although we will be seeing her all weekend as we are taking her to the wedding. Jacquelyn is coming home on Thursday & we are supposed to be going out for afternoon tea so I am trying to get organised as much as possible today & tomorrow x

Hi Linda, I know you're busy just now but just a quick note to let you know I will be freezing my garden this coming week, probably Tuesday or Wednesday. We are going away on Friday. We have a wedding on Saturday & then taking the ferry over to South Uist on Sunday & staying in a holiday cottage. We won't be home until late on 31st May so I probably won't reopen for a few days until I get all the washing etc sorted out. Alan is coming to stay in the house & see to the animals. He will have the girls for a few nights as well so I will have all the beds to do as well as our own holiday washing when I come home. I have offered to help someone out with Top Roo which is in my GH so if I am frozen if/when she needs it I will reopen for that. And if, in the next day or 2 I spot something for any of my vases which requires a RFH plant I may stay open & plant for that but I'm not doing well with them at the moment & don't have the time to hunt x

3. He's pretty down in the dumps at the moment which is understandable.... losing his marriage & his home and having to stay with his Mother whom he hadn't spoken to for several years.  We did offer him a room here but because he's self employed doing garden work now and all his work is in the Black Isle he wants to stay there.  It would be a 30 minute commute each way and with the price of fuel just now I understand that. Colins quite happy he doesn't want to come here as it will be 2 years before he will get a mortgage. Banks want 3 years finances when you're self employed and Alan has only been doing it for 1 year.  Private rents are very expensive so I don't know if he'll stay with his Mum all that time. I don't think, by what Lynne tells us, it's easy for either of them.  I'm going up to town today to meet a friend so better go for a shower.  I'm still sitting in my pyjamas. Colin is fishing all day.  How is Graham doing now? Is his health better? xx

2. So i will be freezing my garden a few days before we go.  I'm not doing much just now.  I finished the 2nd Ellie vase & now working on the 2nd Tiger vase. I need a wombat so waiting for the plants to get RFH for that.  I also have lots of birthstones in storage so should really start using them too. I wouldn't want to discard them.  We got 2 new young hens last Saturday so now have 4. One of the older hens is bullying the new ones in the coop at night so they're now frightened to go up the ramp and inside at bedtime. Last night I took the bully out, put her in the cat carrier on her own and into the garage but as soon as she went back in the pen this morning she started causing havoc. So I think, as well as separating her overnight I'll put her in the big dog crate (in the pen where she can see the youngsters) with bedding,  food and water during the day as well. I know there's a pecking order but thought things would have sorted themselves out by now.  A little humiliation for her might temper her appetite for chasing & pecking and i want them all to get along before we go away and Alan takes over. He's coming to stay in the house while we are away x

Hi Linda, glad to hear Joan is doing much better. It can't be much fun when your legs are so swollen you're struggling to walk or even move them at all.  You certainly sound busy just now but at least it's enjoyable things.....invigilating and cat sitting. We will be at the wedding in Mallaig 2 weeks today. We travel on the Friday as the ceremony is at 1pm so we have Friday & Saturday nights in the hotel where the meal/ dance is, then we have a cottage booked for 7 nights in South Uist. We're going to visit all the little islands in that chain.  Most of them are now connected by causeway but we need the ferry from Mallaig to Lochboisdale which is booked.  However Calmac are having lots of issues with lots of ferries just now and the ferry for that particular route has been taken off to service another route whose ferry is getting repaired. Its supposed to be back by Monday 18th & we go on Sunday 24th so fingers crossed. The Scottish Government have a lot to answer for regarding the ferries. I was hoping they wouldn't get back in power again.  I've never voted for them & I don't want an independent Scotland x

Hi Linda, it has been so long since we talked! It has been crazy here for the last several months. It all started off with the three strokes I had, I think I remember telling you about one. Anyway, I had three from December to April, more than likely from the Chiari. Then our van blew the engine and we had to buy another car! That was something, we were without a vehicle for 3 months! And now, for the last two months we have been getting so much rain that our basement is flooding again. My health has gone down really bad! The boys are really scared, so am I, but I don't let them know it. Tom is getting really bad too, it scares me. It has been so crazy! I am hoping it calms down soon. How have all of you been?
