Oh it would be. The people whom I have met through Fairyland have been even nicer in person....if that makes sense. So I can imagine My Mary of Liverpool is the same. Her accent is hard to understand...she sent me videos of when her Mum turned ninety...and it took a bit to figure out what she was saying...as they have some unusual expressions too. She sent me a little book afterwards with expressions in it. Hahahaha

How funny that you have a penpal too!
Our daughter, when she was in Grade Six, had a pen pal in New Zealand. Her teacher that year had trained and worked in New Zealand and she had connections to the school there. They are still friends...Vilma now lives in California. And some day they hope to meet up in person.
In a similar vein, our daughter went to Ottawa in high school for a week at the Terry Fox. She met a girl who lived in northern Quebec and hit it off and kept in contact. A bit different now as letter writing now took a new form...via the internet. A few years back our daughter was going to be in Montreal and this girl was living there then...and they met up again...and found out that they still had common interests.
Mary, my penpal, is an internet penpal. I met her online through a genealogical forum. I had asked if anyone could consult the English census for a particular year. And Mary responded. I waited awhile...and then posted again at that forum...and who responded? Mary. Then she asked...is there anything else that you would like looked up...and I didn't want to be greedy...but mentioned another census year...and she went ahead on her own and followed up with other information. There was a chat as part of this forum...so we started to talk there...and it soon became a daily thing. She would be at work...as a receptionist in an office building....and would chat to me when she had spare moments. She is retired now and we don't message every day...but again...once we get chatting...one thing leads to another...and another...

If you can believe...I am assembling a Christmas/birthday package to mail out to a friend in England. We both have December birthdays...and her name is Mary too...she is my penpal. I usually mail out end of August, early September to get there on time. One year the parcel did not arrive until mid-January. So when I learned that it had not arrived, I sent out another thinking that the first was lost. The second one arrived within days of the other. Hahahaha. Mary had a double birthday/Christmas celebration.

My great-grandson has been here for about 10 days now. i am splitting the time with his grandmother this year because it's becoming too hard for me to keep up with this awesome 10 year old now.
Ken's caregiver was out ill all this week so i am tired.

Sambar is a gravy we use with rice..
We put in diff veggies each time.. eg, drumstick sambar, potato onion sambar, green leaves sambar etc.. ones mentioned here are my favourite!
