To return the favour of information: if you are set to be a "public garden", you are not actually making possible for anyone to water your garden at any time. For that to be possible, you have to change the setting to a "public plus" garden.
With a "public garden" status only your friends who turn private can still water in your garden. But if a complete stranger fairy is private then she will not be able to water in your garden, unless your garden is set to be a "public plus" garden. The "plus" in the name is written as a mathematical character, which in FL messages get omitted, is invisible, hence I write a plus as a word.
I changed my status, and now from time to time also private gardneres come to visit to spot something (you can see that in your sprinkling messages, because there is P icon next to their name).
