In all my years of living with cats, and I've lived with many cats too,  I've only had a few wire chewers, tree climbers and/or ornament smashers.  These Ragdoll cats I have are super smart, super soft and affectionate but they chew thin wires and love to play!  I've bought cord protectors that work fine for some cords and I buy the braided charger cords for my i-phone now as the cats don't chew those but Christmas tree light strands have too many access spots for sharp kitty teeth.  Having three cats makes for more fun playing with ornaments and chasing up the Christmas tree too!  I love my Ragdolls but minus the Christmas tree, lights, and decorations works best for me.  Way less expense, stress, and clean up! :) xx   

Yes to a new festive creature... I'm only  building snowman while i spot creatures anyways for winter quest... understood you don't have much free time to hunt...

No, not much more snow so far---just a few dustings that melted on the sidewalk when the afternoon sun beat down on it.  I actually enjoy shoveling my snow if it's not a heavy or wet snowfall---or a super windy day.  I like the exercise, fresh air, and natural light I get outdoor in the winter even when it's really cold. :)
I think Christmas decorations are pretty and I use to decorate but don't anymore.  I gave all my decorations away when I moved to my new house.  My Ragdoll cats kept chewing the cords on the lights and broke a lot of my fragile ornaments.  It got frustrating and expensive replacing so many strands of lights and Christmas ornaments so I just gave it all up.
If you decorate for Christmas have you started yet?

I went so far as to write to Support to ask if they could change the number of the red poinsettia icy pot so it would produce a white one instead, but that can't be done.   So Plan B was to use the snow globe pots and plant up a second red poinsettia for better balance. 
Symmetry is life but if you can't have symmetry balance is the next best thing  :)

Winter is definitely here!  It's cold now and we've had snow a few times already.  In fact, It's snowing again right now.  I'll go out to shovel it after lunch.  I actually don't mind shoveling snow as long as it isn't deep or wet.  On Sunday the snow was slushy!  It was so heavy to clear!  I had a sore arm Monday from it!

The lights don't affect poinsettias  maybe I didn't say what I was trying to say very clearly... I didn't want to give up a garden spot for calendar vs poinsettias for cardinals and robins... I can agree that icicles look nicer I'll have  to  go  see  how  to get them... building a  snowman  but  maybe that's wrong I'll check...

What do you think of the new mushroom lights calendar? I sort of understand why mushrooms in particular but at the same point mushrooms don't interest me at all so I'll keep the garden space for poinsettias
