Hi Carmen, how did your brother's appointment actually go? I can read your frustration with him not taking care of his health and I completely understand. My nanna was exactly the same, after my pops passed away she wasn't interested in looking after herself! Luckily we were able to get her into a care facility but it wasn't easy at all. Are there any more family members who can help you exert some gentle pressure on him? I'm so sorry my dear, I hope something can be done to help you both, bless you.
Well that was a horrible evening! Thankfully the fireworks have now finished (although there are always those utter morons who think it's funny to let of the loudest they have at midnight or later).

I'm dreading Saturday as our local park will be holding their annual display which means at least twenty minutes of solid whizzes and bangs! I have no issue with fireworks, I love watching them but why the ear-shattering bangs? It's not just pets, it's the wild animals, the veterans, the homeless, those with sensory issues... it's just not necessary! Sorry. I hate seeing the puplets so distressed, climbing down off my soapbox now!! Russell, who details my car, is mobile and comes to the house which, for someone who has trouble going out, is awesome! Yes, I pay more but he never works for less than an hour on my car and is very, erm, passionate about his job! (He could, as my mum says, talk the hind legs off a donkey about the subject 😂😂😂).

I admit that I did have a little giggle about your mum doing her Wordl game at midnight! I bet she couldn't care less either! At least she's sensible though and does sleep in and let you know that she's okay, not everyone would be that thoughtful. I love your great grand-niece's name, Violet, beautiful and what a fabulous idea to contribute to a college fund as a gift. Yet again, a difference between our countries and you guys definitely have the way of it with this one, saving for college, college funds etc need to be explored here to save students starting their careers thousands of pounds in debt! Mum and dad both had cataract surgery last year, it was either just before or after yours if I remember correctly, does this mean your vision has become a little cloudy?

I think it was mentioned to them as a possibility. I hope it's a quick and simple procedure for you. I guess if it must snow then it not settling is the best thing! Be safe though. Made mum her Coconut Cake this morning and spent this afternoon with Luke sorting out his trains to/from the airport when he goes to the Netherlands in a couple of weeks. Mum and I are going to pay for him to spend the night in a hotel on his way home so he doesn't have to worry if his flight is delayed. It's an evening one and he's travelling alone (he's not particularly streetwise!) and I really, really didn't want him on a train from Birmingham at 10 or 11pm. He can relax after the flight, have a good night's sleep, a full English Breakfast in the morning and then head home at a more sensible time of day.

I will worry about him regardless but a little less this way. I hope you're having a relaxing day today and not overdoing things. Enjoy the rest of your evening and again, thank you so very much xx
