a sunny afternoon splash and wishing you a restful good night, Marguerite! awww! upside down puppies are so cute! please give Pippin some gentle ear rubs from me.  Dresden is curled up next to me snoring so sends sleepy snuggles to you, and to Pippin. we had rain during the night, and it's cooled down quite a bit. it's now 13C, but the sun is shining brightly. I had to shade my eyes while driving home from the grocery store. even with shopping it's been an easy-going day. I read a bit before heading out. also, texted with my sister, and she and her husband will be here on Friday for a visit, and dinner! I haven't seen them since June so I'm looking forward to the visit. I hope the rain clears for you soon.  even with the rain it must have been lovely to have lunch with your son and his partner. take care. hugs and love! xxx

We had wonderful weather for our time away. Actually, it was a bit too hot for us 'oldies' to be walking up a mountain trail. We made it about 2/3 of the way and I just couldn't go any further. We'll try again next year when it's cooler. We do love it in that area. It's so beautiful in the mountains. It's very dry out there, also, though. I hope they got some rain today. We did this afternoon. Looks like it's supposed to rain until tomorrow morning. We really need it.
I'm glad you got some time in your garden. Next weekend, we'll be finally cutting up the wild cherry tree that got half blown down this Spring.
I'm glad to hear your cold is almost gone.
