Like you we didn't have much for Christmas or birthdays, I don't think many children did. We just thought it was nice to have something. These days children have stuff all the time and a lot of it is hideously expensive. I wonder how some of the parents can afford it. When I worked for the council I had a lady come in one day to tell me she couldn't pay her rent as she'd spent the money buying her daughter a new skirt. She was quite unbothered but like my parents always said to me if you can't afford it one week how will you afford twice as much next week. I just told her I'd pass the message on to the appropriate section, what else could I do!

Hi Janet it's been a nasty cold wet day, it may say its 50 but it feels like 39. I wasn't so great this morning going out with Sue is nice but she does spend ages looking at everything like clothes that won't fit her or a freezer, I don't understand it and try as I might she'll go her own sweet way and I stand about waiting for her. I'm paying for it today, the hip has been painful so I decided to do very little and rest it again.

I got the laundry done and got most of it dry in the drier, the remainder I put on an airer in the conservatory. It costs so much to run the drier I figure if I don't need the stuff I'll let it dry by itself out there.

I finished the Cat's Chorus puzzle and sorted the one I bought yesterday. I'm thinking it's either very like one I've done in the past or it's identical. lol I've promised myself that the next one I do will be a wasjig.
