I'm trying to decide what to wear for the funeral, Ness posted that there's no dress code, in other words not too much black but the post seems to have disappeared so I may revert to a black skirt and find a top that's not too bright. I don't want to give offence, mind you Lora wouldn't care!

In answer to your question, yes the car is going in on Tuesday hence the shopping list for tomorrow.

I pulled up a few weeds then it started to rain so we both retired indoors. I finished the Village Wedding puzzle and sorted the edges to another. I phoned Alan and left a message to tell him I'd not be here in the morning as I'm going to Lora's funeral. I wonder if he'll go to Sue and Ian's or wait until next week. He tells me that he finds it hard to find something to do in their garden as it's so neat. I'm not surprised as she spends quite a long time out there weeding and watering.

I've made a shopping list for tomorrow and will visit the supermarket in the afternoon. I'll try and remember to get enough to last the week but if I forget something important I can always get a taxi to take me there, it's not far.

Hi Janet, we've had a dull day with a bit of rain in the high 60's and over 80% humidity. Since I'm not keen to use the car too much I've not been far just around the bungalow and garden. This morning Daryn was working hard moving soil in his back garden and I was making myself a cup of tea so made him one too. He was telling me that he's employing someone to come the first week in August to do some of the work to get the back garden finished. He admits that it's been taking him far longer than he thought it would and at nearly 60 his body's not holding up so well. He tells me he's got arthritis in his knees and hips and his shoulders and back are playing up too. I think he needs to do less lifting and he may find he's not in such a bad state. He drives buses all day long and to go from that to breaking up concrete and lifting soil is more than his poor body can cope with.
