As another "gotcha" while don't want underwater toadstool to turn harvestable without replacement active, if you have multiple fully grown toadstools they each increase attraction for mermaids (mostly overriding supershroom).

I would wait until the wildlife visits.
I was using superfeed so your "results may vary".
With me red, orange, and yellow levels were quite even. Getting 10 wasn't too difficult. Green, and blue were difficult and needed guppy deterrents. Indigo, and violet were way more difficult.  Supershroom after getting pondweed (and a few more) definitely recommended otherwise mermaids will flood into your garden. Unfortunately the phoenish, sea pegasus, and sea unicorn visit much slower (even on superfood) reducing the underwater toadstool usability.

you have me wondering, how you arrived at the 58 minute figure - seems rather precise, especially in fairyland.

You can't start frog breeding underwater, you'd need spawn from a land frog, then go back underwater again.

You get one land frog visit for every complete set of tadpole, froglet and underwater frog (including ghostly frogs) you've spotted in other gardens.  You'd then subtract the land frogs you've attracted to see whether you're due any more.  The next multiple of ten spotted would drop the spawn.

So I think you need to do a bit more spotting (sorry!).  You've spotted 8 complete sets, and attracted 6 land frogs, so you're due two more land frogs but that won't take you to the 10 you need for the spawn.

You've spotted plenty of froglets and tadpoles but you need to spot another two underwater frogs to be able to get your tenth land frog for spawn :)
