Hello, believe it or not I was just getting ready to leave to collect Colin last night when I found an alert for a Jackdaw chick in a garden that I had been watching off & on all day. Nobody else around & I spotted the chick within 3 minutes so I was delighted. Colin drives for Tesco now, 4 days a week, normally all click & collect shifts. He has 4 late shifts, 3 days 1300-2200 and 1 day 1100-2000. I would prefer him to be Mon - Fri 0800 - 1800 like he used to do when he was still working at the tools. However he's 62 now & after tearing a cartilage in one knee & then a hip replacement he's just not fit for building houses. He loves his job with Tesco. He enjoys getting out & meeting people and when you get to that age it's a big thing if you actually enjoy what you do. Latterly, before I took early retirement I hated the job. I was a nurse working 12.5 hour shifts, out of the house for 14 hours the days I was working, always short staffed, never getting proper breaks, no time to chat to patients, always running around like a mad hatter from one task to the next , being told to do things like audits as well as being in charge of a busy ward, it was a nightmare.
