It's not great. We are in the heat again. John is in bed with a migraine and I was u0 most the night coughing. It has settled  on my chest and I'm having trouble breathing. Please don't overdo it and get sick. My garden is almost in full bloom. Very pretty.  Have a good day. Hugs.

Do you grow herbs?  I’m unable to garden in the yard but keep herbs on the porch.  I grow chives for Doug, basil for me and lemon balm for recipes and it’s a great bug repellent.  Just gently rub through the leaves and apply to exposed surfaces.  It smells wonderful and is very pleasant on skin.  I also grow peppermint at the house foundation, it totally deters ants.  I put the oil on cotton in window corners to keep most bugs, especially spiders away.
I meant to grow cherry tomatoes on porch but my knee is uncooperative.
My dad grew everything!  We joked we ate the yard wherever we lived.

Hi Keith- my town's big summer event is the Lakefront Music festival, two nights, one is Country and one is Rock.  This year the Country Night is Keith Urban, Jackson Dean and Karley Scott Collins.   Rock night is Jefferson Starship, George Thorogood (LOVE HIM) and Billy Idol.  Tickets are $130 per night but you can go for free if you volunteer, so guess who is volunteering?    :)  I will be helping work security on the Rock Night (wanding people and bag checking) and doing volunteer check-in on Saturday.  When my shifts are done, I can just mosey over to the concerts. It is next weekend (not the 4th but the weekend after)  I think it will be fun!   I am also (hopefully) going to be a volunteer at a local hospital.  You can't believe what you have to go through to get approved!  I think I could have worked for the CIA or Secret Service easier...... LOL.    I had to have an initial interview, do a two hour study session, have my fingerprints done, have an FBI background check, have a health interview with a nurse, have blood tests, and now waiting for the approval.  It seems like a lot to work 4 hours 1 day a week.  If I get the approval, I will be working in pre & post surgical adm

Yes I passed. When we turn 80 we have to do the test every 2 years. We are in for some very hot days for the rest of this week. The humidity  is what gets me. We will be 95F today with a humidex of 115F. It is 79 right now at 6:47am Humidex 93F. I hope you have a good day. xx

Last night wasn't as noisy thanks. This afternoon I go to renew my drivers license but have to take an old timers test first. Wish me luck :-)
