I have never been to one of the meet-ups, either, but I did meet one of my fairy friends for a lunch when she was in Seattle for a conference ~ it was fun!  I have also convinced a couple of my real-life friends to play with me, so we play in real life and in the gardens together, too.
I have lost several fairy friends over the years ~ I miss them, but it is nice to think about them as I make my rounds.  And there are a few folks who are still friends in Facebook even though they don't play any more.  I always say that if I ever win the lottery, I will plan a world tour to go visit everyone!  Wouldn't that be fun?!
