Tommy is still gobbling up the tomatoes and today ate a lot of lettuce and cabbage. I checked on him a couple of times before I went out and found him sleeping it off beside the fence.

It's nearly midnight so I'd best be getting ready for bed!

I picked up Gwen and we were early to the theatre and managed to park on their small car park, which was good but we did wonder where everyone else was. It turned out that there were only 27 seats sold. We made it to half time and decided it wasn't for us. It was most peculiar a singing murder mystery, with music from the 40's films to The Beatles, but nothing much about the murder. Anyway Gwen said no way was she going back for another hour so I took her home and stopped off to get a couple of things from the store.

You said they closed some of the self help checkouts, we have the same problem here. Lidl closed theirs the day after the TV screened the local police stopping a car full of alcohol. The driver and passenger had been to the store covered all the bottles with multipacks of crisps, paid for the crisps and not the drink and walked out of the store. They are losing so much to shop lifting going through a checkout helps keep down the thefts.

Hi Janet, it's been a warm 70 but it feels like 74 with the 85% humidity. I know it's miserable but I don't like it so sticky I find it exhausting.

I met up with Ness at the hall and a man walked in with 3 new HOP puzzles to donate that I'd not seen before, so I had to bring them home, it's getting ridiculous that's 5 puzzles in 2 days. I was so lucky as Pat, who and runs the Saturday cafe and sale let me have all 3 for less than $7, she's desperate to get rid of some as she has so many, it's looking like I'd best get on with the cat one I started.

I gave Sheila a miss as her granddaughter phoned early to say she had a cold and Sheila said it was better not to go and risk catching it. If I'm honest I was pleased as like most people I really don't need a cold in this heat!
