Gary May is very talented, they had a Christmas edition of The Repair Shop and Dame Helen Mirren, the actress, took in a cello that was brought to England by one of the children on the Kinder Transport [Jewish children brought here to escape the Nazi's] It had been smashed by a German soldier but the boy had held on to it and in his old age had donated it to a charity she was involved with. It was very moving when they presented it back to her.

I've finished the puzzle and will start another soon as Maggie should be coming at the end of the week. I spoke with her this afternoon and she said they didn't have snow where she is, about 55 miles south of us, and suggested if it gets worse she should come another time, when the nights are lighter and the roads are safer. We'll speak again on Thursday and see if it's melted.

Daryn came home for a while as I saw his car when I was going out, however he'd gone by the time I got home, I wonder if they'll both be back tomorrow.

I'm glad I packed all Christmas out of the way yesterday and put it in it's plastic boxes down in the shed, at least I'm not wading through the snow to get it there.

Hi Janet, your garden is sounding like mine when all the weeds come up, there's no way to keep ahead of them, good luck. I'm certain now that Alan won't be here on Monday, we've had 4 inches of snow. It started this morning about 9 and finally stopped about mid day then started early this evening. It melted a bit and I suspect it will be lethal underfoot tomorrow morning as it's freezing hard at the moment. I did go out this afternoon to pick up some books from the library only to find it was shut, perhaps it's been closed since before Christmas, I'll try again Monday if the roads aren't too bad. They only grit the bus routes but even they were tricky as there wasn't much other traffic to cut up the snow. I don't mind driving in the snow but when it's icy that's when I stay home.

Hello Janet. I hope you get some nice weather so you can work out in your yard. We aren’t able to take our outdoor lights down until some of the snow melts. All of the plugs and connections are buried. We should have taken them down before the storm last week. We went to IKEA for the first time this morning. We had a store open up in the fall close to home. We had none in our area. I was not impressed. It seemed like most pieces were just particle board. We did have lunch there. We ordered the Swedish meatballs and they were very good along with the mashed potatoes, gravy and lingonberry jam. We noticed as we were leaving that you can buy it all there. The meatballs and mashed potatoes are frozen and the gravy is in a packet that has to be made. The jam was good so we bought a jar to bring home. I hope you are doing good with your pottery lottery, mine is starting out slow. 💜
