Jojo has come a long way in the short 20 months that she has been with us. I noticed last night that she actually listens and is understanding words! This is big when your pet shows you that they understand the words you are saying. I asked Rylee and Jojo if they wanted "dinner?" Jojo jumped up looked at me and licked her lips - she definitely knew what I was saying. This wasn't the usual "sit, stay, come" stuff this is a sentence that she understood and she showed me that she understood. Excellent Jojo! Happy Friday!

I wear white athletic sock in the fall and winter. Not that I'm athletic - I just like the socks. After they've been washed and I'm folding them I inspect and if a hole is found I tie a knot in it and toss it to Rylee. Well now he's got a new toy! I play a small game of fetch with him to get him to want it. Once he does I watch to see what he does with it. OF course - he gets it a shakes it in Jojo's face! "Look what mom gave me?" She tries to get it and Rylee launches into to the "keep away" game. The fun never ends! Happy Thursday.

I have discovered an interesting thing about Jojo. I have been having problems getting Jojo to release the rubber stick when she brings it to me.  She gets it from Rylee and then has discovered that if she brings it to me I will praise her and throw it again. The problem is that she won't give it back to me - she tugs it when she gets to me. The other day I found that if I grab it near her mouth she lets go of it instantly. I usually avoid getting to near her mouth because - well teeth - so this is the first time I have done this. Who knew? Happy Wednesday.   

It snowed in the overnight on Sunday. Monday we got up to surprise "Snow!" I was back to "wipe your feet" and wiping off wet furry coats again. After lunch I took Rylee and Jojo out to  play catch. I tried to toss the stick on the concrete surfaces and across the wooden deck to keep them out of the mud. I gave it a toss across the deck and Rylee went flying after it - Jojo after him and she hit a slippery spot and slid across the deck and off it to the garden. I laughed as Jojo looked so surprised her feet splaying out from under her as she slid. She looked like a skater turning around in a perfect pirouette. Happy Tuesday.

Rylee and Jojo continue to learn to play together. They have the West Paw Fetching stick and it's a really fun thing to watch them play with. Rylee holding it on the end he shakes it back a forth, hitting himself in the process. While he's busy shaking it Jojo starts her approach - ever so slowly. I see her coming - step by step - inch by inch and suddenly she leaps at the Stick and as she's leaping - Rylee is turning in the opposite direction away from her and she misses it! Rylee takes the opportunity to race away with Jojo at his heels barking at him. Ah the sounds of Spring. Happy Monday.
