I don't think that red bees can be deterred.  It is just a matter of getting flowers with more petals in the color you want and patiently going thru with the process for all the bee colors.  Hence why I never finished the bees   LOL

Get rid of the bee hive with the one red bee,

Keep the other honey pot out and let it attract bees If you get to 3 orange then remove hive and put another down. When you get 3 yellows and 2 oranges plant that honey pot up to a 3 yellow 2 orange flower. Keep going using a new pot every time you get another yellow bee untill you have a fully yellow flower then start all over until you get a green.

You need a honey pot with more orange bees than red, or preferably just full of orange bees. Plant it up with a seed and you will then get just orange bees or if you are lucky orange bees but with 1 yellow.
Then plant that one up and slowly build up to a full yellow honey pot. Then plant up your full yellow honey pot and you will get yellow bees with a green bee.

At the moment all you will get is red bees as you don't have a planted and in bloom honey pot flower.

I think with the hives it really is just a matter of patience - I'm not sure if there are any hints in a forum thread that could help? It's a long time since I did the bees and I mostly remember them as annoying! Tracey might be able to tell you if you're actually doing anything wrong, but I think you just have to keep trying until you get a 3rd orange in a pot

My last honeypot harvested just now had 5 orange bees. I think I will give it 1 more go and then do the easy pot challenge. This is my 9th honey seed.....
