Yeah the missed ones are right pain. Advertise a lot and freeze if needed :( They come early when back-to-back (the gap just between 1:00-1:25 on superfood) and lots of players don't expect that. I sometimes post timing reminders.

You will need at least one plate of spawn for each bottom dweller as you can't reasonably switch to next level mid-plate. That is 7 plates. Might be two for the Starfish, those are horrible.

But I was always able to get some extra Tadpoles along the way, at least the initial levels, even with the old SF which only had 15 feeds. You can either

1) Play it safe and put out Tadpole deterrent and remove it after you get 10 Lobsters (Catfish etc.) and allow Tadpoles in for the rest of the plate (you will just need to either dump the high berries not to waste Frogs, or prepare another plate to catch more spawn - the plate should "pay" for itself even with bottom dwellers coming in - it will probably get 5 Tadpoles to generate another for free and you get extra traffic if you have more food out)

2) Gamble a bit and allow the tadpoles from the beginning. You can always add the deterrent mid-plate if it looks bad and not enough L

You'll want to plant a Dulcia Somniflora to deter the frogs while you're trying to go through the breeding cycle. Remove the Dulcia Somniflora when you want a frog to lay the frogspawn.

Hi! I am sorry for not replying sooner, I am overwhelmed with work and real garden. I see you got the spawn, well done! Now try to get all the tadpoles spotted, then attract Froglets, and you can then turn those into frogs (froglets low plates, frogs high plates, so it is easy to control the stage you want to get).

I would probably recommned doing at least two rounds pure Tadpoles (triple organic or SF plate) so you have enough in reserve before you start the bottom dwellers and don't run out (that would mean going on land for them again).

The quests don't give you extra table though. Just some prettier colours and shapes. So unless you want to do Extincts with the totem poles really terribly, it is a challenge best to enjoy in increments while doing other things. It doesn't have a truly usefull reward.

I loved frogs and bottom dwellers, I return to them often, but I am a bit weird when it comes to challenges I enjoy. Give me free food and I will do anything haha (and the spawn is basically free, so.... I pay for one SF berries and get 2x free SF spawn, now with 4 plates I have even managed 3, joy!). The key there is to keep your tadpoles up so you don't have to get spawn from land (by spotting frog sets) - that is really awful. If you get spawn from breeding your own, it is half of the work done :)

Dinos are not bad, it is relatively quick challenge (compared to Topiaries, which are one of the longest ones). And the reward is huge, at least for someone like me who doesn't buy gold. I absolutely plan my month around my personal free SF weekend :)
The fourth table from Alice is not bad either, but I would definitelly do that challenge after getting the Greenhouse. It is probably quite frustrating without.

When you get the topiary pot ID number, use the last 4 number from your garden, (9364) and the pot ID on the calculator. Select the pot color and your first critter to get the list.

That works! So that means you just have to attract a froglet and a frog underwater and it will drop spawn. Then just make sure you get at least 5 tadpoles on that plate and you can continue doing underwater frogs instead of land ones because like I said they are more confusing  and definitely more work.

Cara and Leeland (Edmonton, Canada)2 years, 5 months ago

I just noticed your count below you will only need one more land frog spotted in yours in order to get spawn. You should be able to get it now if you wanted as you have 7 sets from what I believe because all the frogs get combined that you spot. Also if you haven’t had any underwater frogs your very first one will lay spawn. So what you would do it’s attract one tadpole on your initial plate of spawn (the one you got from the land frogs) and then you are set for the next time and you would attract your lobsters. After that’s done you would try for octopus and you would just need to attract one froglet low plate berries and one frog high plate and empty plate and it will drop the spawn. Hopefully this all made sense hard to explain via text.

Yeah the wildlife guide is stupid they should update it it’s every 5 frog whether it’s ghostly, uw, or 5th land frog. The land frogs are the most confusing to me because you need to spot a set (tadpole, froglet, and frog) to get enough to have a frog come. 1 set for each frog as far as I understand. Then underwater is close to same but it needs to be spotted in your garden So you need have 5 tadpoles spotted on spawn then once you put out the low berries you need 5 froglets and a tall plate of berries will attract uw frogs and 5th will lay spawn. Its just not very clear especially in the guide what to do. I always try once I get spawn to have 5 tadpoles spotted on that plate so all I have to do is put out a low plate of berries the next time and then tall for the frogs. I only did land frogs this time because I accidentally forgot to put in the dulcia sominiflora to block them and figured well I might as well just continue on it might actually work out better and it has.
