Gosh your Mother must of been frazzled from that! All the dust, not to mention deadlines are pretty solid!  But the joyous ending well worth it! We often went places between Christmas and New Year. That was alright if it wasn’t crowded. Back in those days we had two weeks at Christmas and 3 months of summer off. But my father worked all summer! Probably yours as well!

I must say that sounds wonderful! I can not imagine the time and expense for all of that! Someday I’d like to visit there. Not to mention Germany and see the markets!
We can not decorate this year as we remodeled out house… new siding and windows. The eves are not ready for lights. I’m fine with that as we are remodeling our two bedrooms. Tired of the mess and no insulation. Already warmer, but sad excuse but I will decorate our indoor Norfolk Pine. Our neighbors lights are wonderful! Glad I’m not on a large estate!  lol

That’s wonderful! Sounds like fun! That sort of education is not taught anywhere! They do lots of paint, wine and sip classes. But nothing as good as make your own live wreath. I’m sure the girls will pick up on it very quickly. Something new I’ve noticed popping up is wire wrapping jewelry. It’s stunning. It WAS reasonable. You buy a stone, they supply the wire, tools and education. I’m not sure how much they make for their efforts! It’s a good way to see if you want to invest into this hobby.
My daughter to a floral arrangement class last fall. She figured her garden lacked greenery for her dahlia arrangements. So it is a good thing to teach!

So fertile ground and natural sown might win the race! I’m going to give a go again. I do really well with delphinium. So to highlight my bouquets this year I’ll do more of them.

So I took a look at a page on FB about sweet peas. Apparently in uk everyone is sowing them in greenhouses, very much to my surprise NOW! I’m at a loss I never get them to grow. My grandmother sowed them west facing side of the house in sandy soil. I’ve tried containers and in ground. The Vietnamese used straw bales in our last town. Bouquets were very reasonable too. I had a good look at the king’s ransom. It does not set pods well. Strange they’ll figure it out I’m sure. I’ve ordered dahlia seeds first time ever. I needed to try them, who doesn’t love a little insanity of dahlia growing!
