Octopus is the only one I dont have narrowed down to a few

orange & yellow

IM not sure how far you have gotten on under water but the rule is this

The pondweed and coral are "separate "from frog breeding in the beginning

Basically the pondweed attracts the guppies that color the coral

So you need to get up to Violet pondweed to get all colors (not sure if you have gotten that far)

Once you get up to violet pondweed, you can attract all guppies needed to color in all the corals to get the needed ones for attracting bottom dwellers.

So before you start trying bottom dweller ( the fish cycle is what gets u the spawn)

You need to have spotted/attracted enough of each frog cycle to attract the many plates of spawn ( i think u need to attract 10 of each bottom dweller to move on to the next)

Then you do the pondweed to color coral, and then put out to attract your frogs & get spawn..

does that make sense?

Basically the chick comes to the lowest "value" egg that it can. So if there is a yellow egg, a blue egg, and a violet egg in the garden, a red, orange, or yellow chick will hatch out of the yellow egg, a green or blue will hatch out of the blue, and an indigo or violet will hatch out of the violet. You can't make the right color chick hatch, but you can prevent the wrong one from hatching by dumping the food.
