I finished my quest and have pumpkins still growing. I am not sure if I will do the vases. Right now I am leaning towards a no....but I am feeling like doing nothing...if you know what I mean?
I have a couple days to decide.
How was your day? Had to be better than mine.

Funny thing. We were in the special death and dying room...at least that is what I call it...and as she sat resting her back against Kevin's leg...she smiled...first time in days. I always loved seeing her little bottom teeth...crooked. One was missing...obviously one of the loose ones that was removed...but she still looked cute. She knew that she would be taking her last journey soon...
But the thing was...it took an hour and fifteen minutes. It felt an eternity and then they wanted to know if we wanted to stay around for a bit. I would much prefer...in and out within a half hour. A friend had mentioned that before...and she was right...they make you wait. I guess maybe so you have time to reconsider? I don't know. But when you know the time is now...I would rather that the time was now.

It is done. I already miss her. So much a part of our daily routine...now there is a big hole. We were fortunate to have her add a bit of silliness to our lives. The most unusual dog that we have had...now who will boss us around?
We met with some resistance...but we held firm. Fang ws all hepped up with adrenaline so it was hard to realize that she was unwell...but once the sedation was given and she lay on the blanket, she looked so peaceful...and that she has not had in awhile.

We came to the decision to euthanize Fang today if we can arrange it. We have a lack of veterinary care and with the potential for infection to because sepsis.and potential complications from pancreatitis...she is trying to hide and won't eat this morning....not even her chicken...so we think that things are heading downhill. The proposed surgery for the lump will be an even bigger incision...never did get the biopsy results from last week or this week...and her mobility could be affected. She already has two bum knees. We are both crying...but as seniors with our own health issues...we can't do this...and we don't want her to suffer any more. I am hoping that we don't get resistance from the vet clinic...Kevin already wants nothing to do with them as they work on you with rush scenarios so you don't have time to think. But...we also have to consider that we have a cat that goes there too...and they have dropped patients and hard to get a vet. So walking on eggshells.

Kevin found some veterninary wrap at the pet store....so I just washed the wound with plain water...dried it...put telfa pad on it and then wrapped. I had to go around her leg and then across her back and then around her abdomen as I needed to keep it from sliding down. Not my best work but then I never had to deal with long fur and two hind legs and a tail. Fang was good and lay on her side for the procedure..even wagged her tail in the process. Hahaha. I am hoping that the rain holds off so it doesn't get wet when she heads out later. Thanks for your input. Hoping that we can get an early morning appointment at the vet clinic.

So Kevin ran out to Pet Valu to get an antiseptic spray...I will cleanse with plain water first...apply the spray...and then a Telfa pad...I wish that we had some of that vet wrap...I used to use it on our one dog and it was great. The wound is high up on her back leg so can't really wrap...but will try to figure something out. I might use a stocking.

Thanks. We feel abandoned by our vet. Never checked in with us today. Office closed....Fang went out on a leash in the yard to urinate...and she came back inside and her wound is now gaping. She grumped before she went out...I thought that she was hungry. Now we have to figure out what to do until morning. Not even sure what to clean the wound with or how to keep it covered. Phoned the emergency line for after hours...and the vet tech wouldn't even tell us what to clean the wound with...she wanted to refer to a teleconference call...which would be in an hour and a half or more. Everything would be closed. We don't live in the city.

Funny....I spotted a toucan the other day while looking for ghostlies. Hahaha.
I am not forging ahead with these vases..I have three days I tihink to get these pumpkins out of the way.

It the enchanted forest moonlight is one of the jewels needed to make both vases...I will be down to two seeds.
