Susan and Gibbs1 month, 4 weeks agoOh bless I remember sitting watching an older lady when I was younger who had the patience to attempt to show me, so many bobbins for the lace making was beyond my understanding .. that’s over 50 years ago, when it was still a “” cottage industry”” boy those ladies would make a fortune now .. so very long explanation to No I don’t know tatting !! I do hand embroidery and that’s where I stopped !!
Honestly if you know how to do a single crochet ( uk terms double crochet) make a chain and a slip stitch , that’s 90% of amigurumi .. it’s just done in a spiral , round and round , instead of side to side. Increase and decrease.. not complicated . If you made a baby blanket, or 2, it’s as easy as.. honestly .. pick a simple pattern with terms you understand and you’ll get it in a jiffy …. My first make was a lobster !! Legs claws and everything , don’t recommend for a beginner !! Figured if could make it, I would be able to make dolls easier after that !! These doll creatures are just colour changes, mainly , arms separate and sown up .. so encourage you . On you tube their are many make along tutorials . The little octopuses everywhere .. and you can stop the video .. an
