Morning sprinkle

Hello Carmen ~ bit soggy here, but temps in mid 50's, so guess I shouldn't complain.  Ventured over to Costco and Safeway early, user friendly crowds in both stores.  Doing laundry and trying to stay awake.  Neighbor gal made some soup and gave us a pan full; is definitely soup weather, so will give it a try for lunch.  Hope you have a good one, take care and stay safe ~

Well I have to admit, it was like pulling teeth but, after two hours, we have a lovely clean and tidy bedroom. Mum is *not* impressed (I don't blame her!) as every couple of days she asks Luke if he has any dirty washing (we both pay extra on our housekeeping for mum to wash our things with hers). He mostly brings done just his underwear and the odd Tshirt annnnnnnd that's because a bag load was under his bed, along with enough empty plastic water bottles to fill the recycling bin on his own. I didn't realise it was quite that bad and will be checking regularly for myself now. If he wants to behave like a child, I have no problem treating him like one. Honestly, at 20 and now with a girlfriend I really expected better. Still, it's done, it's clean and you the colour of his carpet is, once again, chocolate brown and not Labrador gold!

My neighbour has just returned from a short break to Iceland. Her husband has been diagnosed with Alzheimers and has been both verbally and physically abusive; just over five months ago she was able to get him admitted to a care facility, initially just to give her respite but once there he was subject to various tests and it was agreed he was a danger to himself and her and a semi-permanent placement was agreed. She's exhausted. She's only a tiny little thing anyone and she's wasting away. This trip is something she's always wanted to do and so she braved it! She had a marvellous time and brought a couple of gifts back for us for watching over the house. One of them is a sweet (the best selling in Iceland apparently) and although I was loathe to try it, it's absolutely delicious.

It's a chocolate liquorice. Chocolate and soft caramel (not runny) with pieces of liquorice running through it. Very morish so strictly on rations 😂😂 Oh! That's not a good time, how did mum take your suggestion of reading during the day today? (Happy she's doing ok). Does she like listening to music Carmen? There are so many compilations that are supposed to relax you and help you sleep, perhaps something like that? Or a Lavender mist sprayed on her pillow? Or is she just at that age where she's going to do whatever the heck she wants? Growing old DIS-gracefully is how my mum describes it. My brother bought her a tshirt that reads "When I get old they're never going to say "What a sweet old lady" they're going to say "Oh sh*t! What's she up to now?" 😂😂😂
