I hope you had a nice nap and feel more rested now. Oh dear, that's really not great is it? Your brother sounds a little like he is burying his head in the sand over his health (it reminds me of my dad and his!) which must be equal parts upsetting and frustrating for you. I was going to say that perhaps it's because he doesn't want his sister telling him what to do but then I read that multiple doctors have spoken to him as well. Why are so many men so pigheaded about their health? It's like they think these things they're warned about by their health care professionals couldn't possibly happen to them! I can fully understand why you think your brother would be better off in a care home, that's an awful lot of medical problems for someone living on their own to cope with.

And why would he spend so much of his own money on medication and then not use it? I'll say it again... "men!!"I hope you're able to find a solution.
It's Bonfire Night or Guy Fawkes Night here which is a (ridiculous) tradition that commemorates the failure of the "Gunpowder Plot" in 1605 when a group of men, led by Guy Fawkes, tried to blow up Parliament and kill the king. The failure was celebrated by people lighting bonfires and burning effigies of Guy Fawkes on the bonfire. Later people started letting off fireworks as well. To be honest, I've no idea why it persists in being a thing nowadays and I wouldn't mind betting majority of the younger generations won't even know the true meaning behind it!

For some reason Bonfire Night parties became popular and people had friends round and ate jacket potatoes and sausages (especially impressive if you baked/cooked them in the bonfire) and toffee apples. More recently though, especially because of the number of accidents with fireworks at home, people have started attending organised events. Of course it then becomes a whole money thing with funfairs and food trucks etc. etc. Although the actual day of the commemoration is 5th November, because it's a school night this year, organised events will be held at the weekend so everyone who suffers will have to deal with it tonight, probably Friday and Saturday and possibly even Sunday.

I'm off to bed now, I did try for an early night and almost made it except the cat got out again (it's becoming a habit) and didn't come back for 25 minutes - at which point he meowed at me as though I was the one in the wrong!! 🙄 Have a good evening my friend x
