WOW! the US Coast Guard, you must be so very proud of him Michelle. There where two very famous battle-ships in the German Navy. The Tirpitz and the Bismark. Daddy was on HMS Dorchester, who sent the last salvo of torpedoes into the Bismark. He watched the battleship sunk. Then three months later the Dorchester was hit by Japanese Hari-Kari pilots. It sank, he spent thirty six hours waiting for rescue, before being picked up. Not only was he traumatized as he watched his comrades burnt alive, he also fended sharks off with a piece of shrapnel from his ship. He watched so many of his comrades fall. Also with the four other ships torpedoed beneath him. He was my hero, he was remarkable, he was amazing, and I am blessed (even if he claimed his angel wings in 1989) to have been his daughter. G-d bless Michelle...your father too was a very, very, very special man! XXX
