Hello Diane, I hope that you find the right shoes. I had another afternoon with mum. She loved the knitting patterns that I gave to her from the Charity Shop. I also took a baby doll that was hers as a child. Told her that I also had something in my basket that called out to me yesterday from my glass cabinet demanding to be taken to her. Naturally she looked puzzled. I then revealed the doll. The look of joy on her face was wonderful. She held the doll and told me the story of her much older brother giving it to her when she was a child. I actually knew the story but didn't stop her from telling it again. Then me holding the doll I wiggled it and made the doll ask if it could come and stay with her for awhile. She was delighted and after some time she carefully placed it in her glass cabinet. I am sure that she will have fun showing it to her friends. Then she mentioned the closet that she wanted help so we tackled that. Up a small step ladder and removed all of the top shelf items. Then worked our way down. My car is now full of donations for the shop. Many hand knitted blankets, some curtains still in their packages, various bits of bed linen likewise unused and in packets and other assorted things. It alarms me to think that Mum is clearing out her unit. I know she is thinking about when she passes. She also asked me about my doll collection and asked, "Who will they go to when you (me) dies?" We had a think about that and decided that my Granddaughter Stevie may want them. Another great day with Mum.
