My Reesees is an alerter as well. We live in a group of 4 duplex units set back from the street and separated by a driveway with two units on each side. This means everyone coming or going has to pass by my living room window. And Reesees rarely misses an opportunity to let me know someone is out there moving around - neighbors, delivery people, visitors, etc. Think she is trying to protect me.  She was physically abused in her first year of life and when I adopted her, she was a bit of a mess for quite some time. Then she seemed to go into what i describe as "protect mode" in her demeanor. Wish I could get her to be more relaxed, but nothing I have tried has worked to allow that.

Jojo is our alerter. She barks when someone is at the door. She barks if she only thinks there's someone at the door. (there usually is not) She barks when I call down from upstairs to say something to hubby. I have started phoning him with my cell phone to our land line thinking she won't bark - as soon as she realizes it's me - she barks. I have phoned home when I'm out - I can hear her barking when he picks up. I suppose she has decided that this is her job letting hubby know he is needed. Happy Monday.

Happy MOnday! It's got hot today! Like summer! I know it will drop again soon enough. Work was ok but I'm tired because... well Monday... Did a couple little shores around the house now time to relax. Have a great night!
