Imagine you’re holding a cup of coffee when someone bumps into you or shakes your arm, causing you to spill your drink everywhere.
Why did you spill the coffee?
Most people would say, “Because someone bumped into me!”
But that’s not the real reason.
You spilled the coffee because coffee was in your cup. If tea had been in your cup, you would have spilled tea.
The point is, *whatever is inside your cup is what will spill out when you’re shaken.*
Life will shake us—it’s inevitable. And when it does, what’s inside us will come pouring out. It’s easy to put on a facade when things are calm, but challenges reveal our true inner state.
So, the real question is: *What’s in your cup?*
When life gets tough, do you spill over with joy, gratitude, peace, and humility? Or do anger, bitterness, harsh words, and frustration come out?
What’s in your cup is up to you.
Let’s make a conscious effort to fill our cups with positivity: gratitude, forgiveness, joy, patience, kindness, gentleness, and love. That way, when life inevitably shakes us, what spills out will reflect the best of who we are.
