I got a phone call from Sam abut 30 minutes ago, she was on her way home from playing in a netball game and had got stuck as one road home was closed and the other was being held up by a train crossing so she phoned and we had a long chat until she was nearly home. She was telling me the children will be on summer holiday in 3 weeks, where has the year gone??

I've been trying most of the day to get in touch with Eden, the physio who sent me for the hip x ray. Since its been 4 weeks I figure someone somewhere can tell me what's happening. When I had it done the radiographer told me my doctor would be in touch, I don't think so, I can't remember the last time I saw a doctor. They send you to see paramedics or nurses, I'm not even sure if my doctor still works there! Since Eden sent me I decided she would be the one I needed. I finally managed to get through to them at nearly 8 this evening, they are always so nice and helpful. The lady I spoke to told me Eden's on holiday and as I'm her patient she'll put my name on a list for an appointment as soon as she returns in about 2 weeks. I don't really mind as I'm coping OK at the moment.

Hi Janet, it's been much more comfortable today 69, cloudy with the humidity down to 62%. The rain they forecast never materialised and I spent some time in the garden removing more weeds. You're right it was Louise who did the garden, she was great and never overcharged, you paid her for how long she was here. I know my friend Sheila, who had her too, was like me always paying a bit more, firstly because she was so good and secondly she didn't charge enough! She didn't finish gardening but went to work for a company that owned residential homes and they needed a full time gardener and an assistant. She was self employed at the time but by going to work for them she wouldn't need to do tax returns, her employers do them, they'd still employ her during the winter and she had a young assistant to help as she got older. Let's face it was a win/win she couldn't afford to turn it down.
