Yes there are alleys behind many of the older buildings, my grandmother lived in one and so did my friend Sheila. They're lovely houses built in the early 1800's and yes that's exactly how they emptied the bins when I was a child. My mum had an Uncle Sid who'd worked in the coal pits of Wales and was buried alive during a fall. He survived but never went down the pit again. He married my grandmother's sister, moved to Lowestoft and worked on the bin lorries for the rest of his life. Those bin men must have been incredibly tough and I can understand why he loved being outside.

Poor Tyler, it was never going to be an easy fix and chemotherapy is so hard. I'm in your camp I'd rather loose the foot than my life.

I've worked on the puzzle and have done about a third, it seems to be going very slowly. I know its because I want to start my birthday one.  Hugs  xxx

Hi Janet, why is it when I go in shops no one gives me chocolate cake what does Don have to make women give him cake???  LOL

It's been a nice day, very windy 71 with lower humidity 43%. I did a line full of washing and it got dry in a couple of hours. I potted about in the garden then sorted all the rubbish bins. I put Daryn's back on his parking space and put Sue and Ian's through their gate. I then washed my food one out, OMG it gets horrid even though I wrap everything. Later Sue came out of her front looking for her bin and I told her where it was and she got Ian to power wash it. The problem we have is they should empty them each week but they seem to miss odd weeks and if you phone to find out why they just say they'll be there next week. We didn't want food bins but it's the council who insist, I have no idea what they do with old food waste, someone said they want it for biofuel.
