As for your little buzzy bug, I have a thing that looks like a badminton racket. The strings are metal and it has a battery in the handle. All I have to do is press a little button on the handle and swipe flying insects and when they hit the strings they die immediately. I call it a zapper and fortunately i don't get too many things in doors as i feel guilty every time I use it.

I'm half inclined to give Mark a call, he was the man who cleared the gutters last time. We've had inches of rain in the last few days so I should have a lot of water in the butt yet there's only about 6 inches in the bottom.

I did my neighbourly thing and put the rubbish bins out, it will be interesting to see what time they come in the morning. They used to be here at 7 then it got to 9 and now they're taking one big bin plus food waste from a separate container. I don't have much just some bread and a few peelings. Like I said we have to sort our rubbish, what I'd like to know if I put the food in with the general stuff that goes to land fill who will know. They tried doing food waste separately about 10 years ago and stopped it after about a year I never knew why, probably no one did it!

Hi Janet, I had to laugh  when I read what you do when you get up, my mornings are similar as I too have oats at breakfast with some sort of fruit, usually blueberries but sometimes raspberries and after I've put the kettle on for a cuppa and since I don't have the dog I feed the birds, wash the bird baths, put hot water on the dried meal worms so they get soft, clean the bird tables, put out the food, still in my PJ's.

I went out late this morning and bought some Impatiens/Busy Lizzies to put between the plants Alan put in, the bed is now nicely full! It was sunny and miracle of miracles Alan made an appearance next door. I saw his red van and heard much banging and by the time I went out he was gone. That was a pity as I think my gutter is blocked and he would clear it.
