Hello Leslee,
oh interesting the old Swaziland - i will never get used to these name changes.
I stay in a small little conservatory (Pearly Beach) which is close to Cape Agulhas. it is also protected here although we don't get any of the big five. loads of snakes so i know what you talking about and scorpions as well. It is very beautiful - the whales come to calf here, but unlike Hermanus we don't make a huge tourist attraction out of it. For now the commercial part is staying away from our pretty dorp. that said the closest decent shop is Hermanus or Bredasdorp both of which are an hours drive away. we do have a Spar (1/2 hour away) which is not friendly - tourist prices which is crazy so we plan carefully and have 2 chest freezers - go for a big monthly shop.  i lived in Johannesburg for 17 years, so it is taking some adjusting to this slow pace of life - but i do prefer it. Although if i could move again i think i would rather have gone up the west coast. Pearly Beach was hubby's choice and honestly i hate the constant strong winds, we don't get a lot of days without wind.
