We had many friends from Scotland and England when I was growing up and the adults would celebrate Hogmanay. One of the adults always had the duty of being the first through the door since he was tall and black headed.
Halloween is a lovely excuse to play dress up here and be silly. I have more kids take fruit snacks than chocolate the past few years. Of course the chocolate here has been made with less real ingredients. We do get some of the German chocolates through Aldis. They are much tastier!
