they will probably just say oh you don't need to do that.. If i was paying someone id be making sure they walls were washed down. specially when forking out thousands. Are they taping over the window and skirting and door frames? Glad they got it off the new floors also, do they have drop clothes on the ground? 

well he should know what his doing if his been painting that long, my brother and sister inlaw had their place repainted painted just over a year ago after 20 years and there's got washed down before hand, mainly cause of dust, cooking mists etc on the walls, sanding them creates dust then they paint over it, Yes sand them a little them give them a damp mop down with a squeeze mop. cause they painting on top of dust from sanding.
See how it looks when they finish and if your not happy then say something to them.. xxx😘
