Hello ED, no need to worry but TY. I found my way to Mum's Respite Hospital and had lovely afternoon with her. I managed not to get lost. A little bit tense when I arrrived and couldn't find a car space. Ended up parking in a disability space. I had my walking stick with me as I did not know how far I would have to walk and if steps were involved. I was buzzed in t the entrance and I immediatley told the receptioninst where I was parked nd pointed to my car. She said, "No Problems." Then she showed me how to sign in as a vistor. It was all digital even taking a photo of me and reading my temperature. Then she led me to Mum's room saying she was sorry but it was a bit of a walk. It was however not as far as I walk for my morning coffee. She spotted Mum in the Dining room chatting to a couple of ladies. "Your Mum will show the rest of the way. And Mum did. Her private room is lovely with an ensuite. Whilst we were sitting and chatting a care worker came in to do memory test for Mum. Whiklst that was happening my phone told me to get up and walk. I did and headed further down the corridor and soon discovered a small lounge with a large avairy with 2 birds happily chirping away. I then wandered back to Mum's room just as she was going to the loo so I stepped out again to give her some privacy. I noticed that her neighour directly across from her had a sign on the door alerting visitors and workers that there was a cat in the room and to be careful. CRICKET the cat with a photo. As I was standing there smiling at the sign a worker stopped and chatted to me. She told me that they have a number of residents with pets. Me, "Umm, how is the litter dealt with?" She told me that they have to be able to deal with it. I went back to Mum's room and told her about the birds and her opposite neighbour with the cat. Mum instantly responded, "How do they get rid of the litter?" I didn't have an answer. Mum passed the memory test and that didn't surprise me. I managed to find my reverse journey home without stress. Now it us bed time for me. Enjoy your day.

Good morning splash--pygmy mouse ty .It is a nice start to the week 8 and sunshine but as you say the winds are still cold. It is sort of a short break for us as snow coming back for a return visit later this  week and enough of it we may need the shovels. There is no way you can figure out a cat, even though Sagwa and I are usually on a similar wave length there is times when I have no clue what he is doing or wants, and they seem to love to push your buttons. I guess if it is really becoming a problem for you to take them for extended periods of time then it is time for other arrangements as not only is it stressful for you but I think it is not doing the cats any favors either. A few of the usual chored this morning that I will have to get at. Have a good day

Hello ED, the Chicken Kiev was yummy! I have saved some for tomorrow night after I visit Mum. My cats are now safely inside and fed. Naturally Mungo wants to test me and go out again. Not going to happen. Mindy snuggled  for the night. And I will soon be snuggled with the book that is mine! So many interesting stories about local Indigneous people. I will have to send Heidi a Thank You card. Try and enjoy your new day.

Hello ED, YAY Heidi dropped the book in my yard for me! IT'S MINE! It was a weird way of leaving it however I am really happy! I am sorry that Sandra is getting a bit mixed up re. the cats. Not sure how you can stop her getting up and feeding them during the night. Cats will certainly take advantage of that. My cats ALMOST understand the shutdown and generally abide by it. Speaking of them Mindy has now appeared as I am outside writing to you. I will go inside and feed her now. Laters!

Hello Ed, I haven't heard of Julian Barnes. Today at the Monday Morning Coffee Club a friend passed Orbital back to me saying that she loved it. Then after some conversation another friend asked me if she could read it. I hestitated thinking that I most likely could post it to you and it might get there faster.than your Library can. However I gave it to her to read. Once again it was an enjoyabIe gathering, about 10 of us. Lots of laughs. One of the group asked Frank, the owner, if he minded us all gathering each Monday. His aswer was "No it looks good for the shop and you are all regular customers."  I haven't heard from Heidi re the mystery book delivery. Fingers crossed that it was meant for me. I worked at the OP shop today and noticed that the books to be shelved were the same as I left them on Friday. Mal was still there. I looked in the trailer of things to be thrown out and spotted a box of Magic eqipment for children. I picked it up and lo and behold there were boxes of books to be thrown out underneath it. I rescued them. Priced them and shelved them. The recycling bins were already out in the street so who knows how many books were in there? He is certainly becoming sneaky. I shake my head wondering why he even bothers to volunteer. And the box of magical tricks was only missing the wand. It is also now priced and on a shelf with a note stating missing wand. I am home now and thinking about dinner. It will be a frozen Chicken Kiev meal. Enjoy yoy new day.

splashed-- mallard ty It is a sunny morning of 0 to start the day. Yesterdays snow all melted and we had a sunny day although didn't warm up much. Kevin made it down to Cobourg and back nicely(not that I doubted he would) but that 401 can be nasty at time especially going through Toronto. He managed to get his piece said(with a little blubbering) and all so managed to do his duty. I think his plans for today is to unwind with a walk in the bush to start scouting for turkeys. Hopefully another quiet day for me. The cattery sound like less problems for you--if they will adapt to it okay. When I moved I put Sagwa into one for overnight and the day of the move but apparently he must not have liked it because he wouldn't come out of the little house thing and wouldn't eat, but sound like a good idea for your peace of mind. Have a good day
