Hello Ed, I hope that you had a good solo trip into town. Did you use the scooter? Well done you remembering Dandenong. I am slowly settling down after today at the Op shop. No one seems to get reprimanded. I am certain that Mal will keep throwing books away. i wish that i could afford the rental of a little shop in Rye for second hand books. That would be my dream. Oh well night is falling and should go to bed. Enjoy your day.

Hello Ed, TY for the Mallard. The Tree Loppers arrived at 8:30 on the dot. They went to work straight away. AS they had parked the big truck and trailor with the machine for mulching the wood in the driveway I missed out on the coffee Club. Just after 10 they moved it in further so I went for a coffee. Then later went to the Op shop to work. My family moved to Dandenong when I was 6. So I basically grew up there. Almost resigned from the Op ahop today. When I first arrived Mal, the man who works in the Morning had thrown so many good quality books in the junk trailer. I hauled them out and a superviser helped me to get to the ones I couldn't reach. She was aghast at the quality of the books junked. However I know he won't get reprimanded. Then a little later a backroom worker told me that we have to cull books as the Bric a Brac people think that I have taken over their space. I pointed out that the space indicated has only been filled with games and Jigsaws and that most of the games and Jigsaw shelves were empty despite having loads in thE back room. Mal really should have been shelving them rather than throwing out books. I felt sickened and went to the supervisers to say I was going home and may not be back. They were horrified and assured me that the Bric a Brac lady is not in charge. They supported me. Tearfully I thanked them and went back to sorting. Told CheryI, one of the supervisers that the only reason I am staying on is that i enjoy the friends that I have made.  I HATE the disposal of good books.  I am still feeling wound up about it all.

Morning splash--it is -12 and clear with sun just having made its appearence.I took a little peek into the storage room yesterday and they have not even started on getting my stuff in(thought the notice said they would be going at itfor the Thurs, Fri., and Sat. but no one working yesterday!!! I seem to be always on a wait list for everything. Got my bed stripped and going to have to try to remake it today ,Sagwa has also got some energy so that he wants to help?? which then becomes a marathon of trying to outsmart him I did see some of the Sony open but like you say the winds have picked up and the players scores are going in the wrong direction. I thought the first tournament over there was all the winners from the previous season but there is surea lot of new faces and names I have never heard.Have a good day.

Haha! It was Tracey's lodgers and stacking dishwashers. I am some what pedantic about how my dishwasher is stacked. Spoons in one place etc. However when the family is here I just have to let go. Like Tracey, I agree that pointy knives should be placed point down. Now night is really falling and I am off to bed. Enjoy your day.

Hello Ed, my last post before bedtime and a book. I always keep my cats inside during extreme weather. Mungo complains and then when he steps outside he quickly turns around.
Now silly me I have forgotten the other things you spoke about. Signing off and may be back soon.

Hello Ed, once again....I think that Bocce and Boulle (sp?) are the same game. One Italian and one French. Same game. Heavy balls. At Jamieson we just played it. Under arm/over arm? I think that we did underarm? Never did look up the rules etc. Just had fun. We are moving into a heat wave here and the tree loppers are coming tomorrrow. I do not envy them their task in the heat. Told them that I have a fridge in my shed/ garage for their water and lunches. At the moment I am sitting outside however I hear cars leaving more than the surf. As I was driving home I noticed that the traffic returning to Melbourne was almost at a stand still on the freeway. Dinner done, bins out. Enjoy your day.

Hello Ed, Mum enjoyed the Bocce although she has to practice over arm bowling rather than underarm. A curious thing that I noticed today. Mum's unit is 110, the house that I grew up in was no. 11. The house that I was born into was 1100. I pointed this out to Mum and then asked her what was the number of the street in Oakleigh that her brother and his family lived in. Mum's eyes widened and she answered, "11". Now I am recalling that my Camberwell address was 22. 2x11. Curious indeed. Wondering what it is about the number 11 for our family? Home again and it is hot. I have to put my 3 bins out and prepare for the tree loppers tomorrow. Also make dinner. Enjoy your day.

Splashed--field mouse ty The road doesn't look too bad down there and traffic is moving but it is -2 and snowing this Sat. morning. I don't have to go anywhere and won't be going out as my walker does not do well in snow and there is no way everything will be clear for me. Now you have to play with a new lap top until you can figure out what you are doing. That is a real pain with the bank but I guess that is what they cal progress forcing everyone to just do all the work for them by not having people available to you instead of just machines, No the snow is still here and getting higher,Kevin and I were just saying we really have not see snow bankc like this in decades. Kevin remembers the snow real high but as I said he was small and we didn't have the blowers to clear snow so instead of spreading it when we shoveled it just got higher as we couldn't toss it as far. Will just stay in and look at the mess from up here, The storage lockers and slowly getting done but I think mine will be the last one as they have to put the shelves together before they can stack my stuff. Know where it is now as a friend seen my stuff(recognized  the old walker and wheelchair).Kevin is stiff and sore from shoveling the heavy stuff that the plow deposited in his laneway and his blower decided not to start. Have a good day
