Hello Ed, I hope that your friend Kev's return home improves. He is lucky that his wife accepted him back. I had a great day starting with my usual walk around the corner for coffee. A lot of my friends arrived there at the same time so we sat and chatted. Then I went and visited Mum. She told me that she is worried that she is not ready to leave the Respite Hospital on Friday. She wondered if she was being a wimp. That was not the word she used. I reassurred her she was not a wimp and should tell all of us how she feels / thinks. Mum hates offending anyone and will often hide wht she is really feeling. As my brothers and a nephew seem to be arranging things and I have not been consulted even though I am the oldest, she felt safe telling me. In many ways I am happy that I have not been consulted as Mum feels safe confiding in me. She never wants to offend the people who are trying to help her. If a family member gives her a piece of furniture that she really doesn't want or like she quietly tells me although accepts it. I pointed that out to her and she smiled saying "Dianne, you know me so well." Naturally all of the family love her and are trying to help. Sometimes they should ask the question, "Is this what you want?" Rather than deciding for her with all of the best intentions. I am now trying to set up a chat group with my brothers and nephew. Not sure how but asked my younger brother to do it. It would save numerous and missed phone calls. Now time for me to reheat my leftover dinner from last night. Enjoy your day.
