Hello Ed, your supermarket checkout problems can be avoided by not going through the self serve thing. I refuse to do that. I love chatting with the cashiers. Today as I was getting ready for my goods to go through a man ahead of me  was chatting to the cashier and I joined the conversation. He was amusing. He mentioed that he had been driving a truck for 8 hours. When he left I noticed that a bottle of milk was still there. I told the cashier that it was most likely his. She rushed out of the store and called out to him and happily he turned back and she gave him his milk. She thanked me for pointing it out and then we chatted. Another reason for not doing the self serve! I think that I was mistaken about Pat living near you? She lives in Hertsfordshire. I enjoyed my re heated dinner as I watched a bit of TV. Now I am getting ready for bed and a new book. Enjoy your day.

Hello Ed, I love it when you get carried away! After to writing to Pat who lives near you, I decided and have made an appointment at a local Optomerist. Something weird is going on with my eyes. Could be good! For many years I have worn bifocals however lately I have been raising my glasses to get a clearer view of long distance. Well the eye test will reveal all. So I will miss Art Group as the appointment conflicts however it must be done. I guess that I will start the soup in the morning. Now time to reheat my leftovers and watch a bit of TV. Enjoy your day!

Hello Ed, TY for the  Mallard and Ruby seed. The book that I read, finished last night, was her first one. I enjoyed it except for the language and sexual stories. Perhaps I am becoming a prude? I will be interested to hear what you think about the second book. Pity about your charcoaled dinner. Cooking 2 different dinners cannot be easy. Today I purchased all the ingredients that I need to make a pot of Pea and Ham soup. I will make it after Art group tomorrow. Once cooked I will then make separate containers to freeze. Now I have to tend to my clothes washing. Do you use a clothes line or dryer? I guess that washing is another chore of yours. I prefer to hang my washing on a line. However I do have a dryer. Do you have a dishwasher other than yourself? I do! Enjoy your new day!

Morning splash--It looks like a wet Monday here but the temperatures 14 so a big improvement over the white stuff that was around for so long. Yes Rory did it but not without a bit of nerves on whether he would get there.I was sort of hoping for the great comeback of Sheffler but he was one short. I really don't know why some of these golfers put themselves in the position they do--yes they won it once upon a time but now its sort of embarassing to see them bottom of the lists. I guess now the golf is done until Thurs I better get some work done around here. Have a good walk to town and a nice visit in the charity shop.

Hello Ed, you are most likely correct that the owner of the war books has passed on. Re cheese... A Deli that I like to support rather than the big supermarkets sells wonderful cheeses from France. The owner reduces the price once the use By Date has expired and I buy the cheese then. A couple of years ago he assured me that European cheeses gets better as they age. Not so for cheese made here.
Something to do with how it is processed? I have reheated my my leftover dinner and eaten it. Still yummy! I will soon be in bed with my book. Just a warning about the Miriam Margoyle memoir. She does use a lot of language that I would rather not hear or read. However, she tells things honestly in her own way. And what she has to say near the end of the book is so relevant today! Well she only wrote it a few years ago! Fairly sure I will finish it tonight. Enjoy your day!
