Out of curiosity, what color are the tabs in the Wildlife section on your computer? 

Do you have an Intel processor or AMD Radeon Graphics? 

Everything on my new computer has changed colors.  It's blue on the old laptop, but green on the new one.

Both laptops are HPs but with the different processors. 

And Family Tree Maker went  from nice neutral tones of green & grey to this horrible beige/yellowy color.

Hello, Cheryl.  I like your little saying about the Scots.  My dad (pure Irish) used to say something like there's Irish & everyone wants to be.
The cold hasn't hit us yet.  I think it's later in the week.  Hubby tells me about temperature change days in advance & I can't remember when he's talking about it.  I don't really care about the weather unless we're going to get tornadoes & then I want some advance warning.  Otherwise, if it's cold/chilly, I'll put on a coat/jacket.  If it's going to be warm or hot, I won't.  If it's going to rain, I may or may not go out if I don't have to.  You are industrious in your yard.  I used to help pull weeds in the iris beds, but it started to hurt my hips, so I stopped.  Care of the outdoors is HIS domain.  I do the inside work with the help of  a bi-weekly cleaning crew.
